I suppose I did not bad, because out of the 2460 tracks on the player there is a lot of tripe.

 

How do I go about refreshing my music? I used to get it from Limewire, that's shut down now I think. Is there something similar on the go?

Torrents. They're a bit harder to come by nowadays but still fairly simple. Failing that, HMV/iTunes/raiding some auld/hipster mannie and take through his vinyl.

Or you can use a Youtube downloader to convert directly into mp3 format to your desktop/download folder.

 

Sometimes the quality is a bit patchy, but often you'll get good quality.

Even better than that, though, is Scilor's Grooveshark Downloader. That's the fucking bomb. I very muich recommend Scilor's downloader. Piss easy to use, and has most any song you can think of...

Ok, I'll give it a go when I get home in the morning - can't download stuff at work.

The last time I tried to download something to make me be able to use torrents for films, I landed up filling my computer with crap - pop-ups all over the place. I had to get a new computer. It was called Pirate Bay or something. When I told the bloke who had recommended it, he said "Oh, you don't press the download button, that's the worst thing you can do." Will the same happen when I press the big green download button that appears when I follow your link for Scilor's Grooveshark Downloader?

As far as I'm aware Scilor's is safe... hasn't done any harm that I've seen.

 

Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the Scilor's page and click the 'setup' download button, and you'll be golden.

I try to buy music directly from bands at gigs.

 

Don't mind other people downloading or whatever, its their choice, but personally I dont feel comfortable giving money to record companies etc, fuckin parasites.

 

Listen to a lot of full albums on YouTube, if I like the band I'll go see 'em.

I'm having to make do with the radio. Got a new phone couple of weeks ago but haven't been arsed putting my music back on it yet. Lucky I've only got a 10-15 minute drive to and from work.

I had a nightmare on the way to work today:

Primal Scream - Rocks (Acceptable start)

Sublime (?) - Can't remember the name of the track - something about a young bird going on the game at 14

Culture Club - Karma Chameleon (Ouch - thought about a FFWD)

Dido - Here With Me (No way, I didn't even know I had that on there. Was tempted to sit in silence the rest of the way)

Semisonic - Secret Smile (Rounding off a pretty average trip to work music-wise)

 

Didn't manage to try the thing Ke1t suggested for music downloads, seemingly the 20th November is our anniversary. I'll put it in the calendar for next year.
