Hewitt1983
Another horrific discovery of people being held in captivity for decades. Once upon a time this would be absolutely massive news but doesn't seem to be dominating the headlines as much as I would think. Personally, nothing shocks me nowadays, whereas fifteen/twenty years ago this kind of thing would've left the whole population dumfounded. Has the rise of the internet and mass reporting desensitized us to even the most appalling of incidents these days? Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
What staggers me is the suspected couple were bailed FFS Thon dago in America was banged up immediately. Ok, there's no suggestion of them being sex slaves, but keeping people against their will for 30 years is not a bailable offence. Seems now they were arrested in the 70s for slave type stuff too Link to comment
StandFree1982
It's all a popularity contest. Oh look at me i've been captive for longer than you. Attention seeking at it's lowest. </sarcasm> Link to comment

Dynamo
Were they locked up in a dungeon or something? 30 years is a long time to escape from a middle aged couple let's be honest here. Link to comment
daytripping
To be fair Joey Essex is rocking i'm a celeb, did you see him getting lessons on how to read a watch with dials, it was classic telly. Few slaves is a bit meh, every house should have one imo. Link to comment

spamspamspam
I'm just disappointed that they didnt print more details. With Christmas coming up and a nice bookie win or two I'm just glad the Evening Express were decent enough to print the addresses of the places where all the Eatern Euros were being held up for sex. Clydeside_Sheep
Has the rise of the internet and mass reporting desensitized us to even the most appalling of incidents these days? Most certainly, thanks to (i) widespread reporting of these kind of things and also (ii) the popularity of grisly online videos of accidents and murders etc. I enjoy a comic video of some walloper managing to roll their motor on a petrol station forecourt, or some drunk staggering aroung at Octoberfest etc but I refuse to watch videos of executions and things like that. I think you lose something of yourself, if you watch that kind of thing online. Edit - I see it was far left extremists who were responsible for the captivity of these women. This is exactly what an Independent Scotland would be like Link to comment
