Aberdeen V St Mirren (2 - 0)

Recommended Posts

Injured: Robertson

Fierce competition for starting XI and the bench. Flood pushing for a start but I'd leave him on the bench and go with same team. I would worry McInnes may try to shoe horn him in without actually dropping any midfielders.

Langfield

Hector Anderson Reynolds Considine

Jack Robson

McGinn Pawlett Hayes

Vernon

subs: Weaver, Shaughnessey, Magennis, Low, Flood, Wylde, Zola

others: Clark, Smith, Murray, Masson, Shankland

Prediction: 2-0 Vernon & McGinn - should be a decent crowd.

Last time we went to Dons St Mirren it was with boofon and was one of the worst games I've ever seen.

Bogged down in midfield with no chances at all for either team.

Clangers took a fresh air swipe at a passback, that was the highlight.

I expect more of the same. A rubbish game, either nil nil or 1-0 St Mirren.

They discovered horse in the pies a few days later after I had several as well

Stevie Thompson took his abuse quite well that day.

I expect this game to be better because the gentleman wage thief is no longer our manager.

I was looking at our run of form against Smirren since they came back to the top flight

Our record against them was good until the 10/11 season - coinciding with Lennon taking charge there and (almost) Brown taking charge with us. After that lots of draws and losses (with only 2 wins I think, 4-2 away and a win in a cup replay). So far McInnes has had 2 draws out of 2 games. Arguably the 1st draw was with Brown's team, but that last time we played them was a horrendous display from us, admittedly against a team where the manager would surely have got the dunt had they lost. I worry that we'll struggle to break them down

Our last 'performance' against St Mirren was dreadful. We had just beaten Falkirk 0-5 yet almost lost to a club in despair. DM needlessly had made changes in that game, and we lost a goal to a mistake in defence. Seems like we played well against St Johnstone though and Vernon might be much more effective in connecting Pawllett & McGInn etc. Hope we play our best & dont have another 'off-day' after a good display. If we play to our potential we will win. Great to have Flood back pushing for a place and Robson finally enjoying a consistent run.
