dave_min
That was an above average night at Pittodrie that night. Link to comment
Red Dragon
First time I've seen the highlights - still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Jamie Smiths first is outstanding. The hooters Link to comment
Sonoftherock
First time I've seen the highlights - still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Jamie Smiths first is outstanding. The hooters I thought his second was even better. To control a dropping ball like that, keep it low and find the bottom corner was unbelieveable technique. What a pity he was never fit - some player when he got going. Remember going into town after the game - pubs and clubs, full of dons fans celebrating. I was absolutely blootered by 3am and completely hoarse from shouting! Link to comment
StandFree1982
What a midfield we'd have if he was fit and playing for us now! Smith, McGinn, Hayes and Pawlett. Might be a bit lightweight, but for attacking options...it's immense. Link to comment

I was working at 7am the night day but didn't give a fuck once I got into town. Link to comment
tommo1903
I was at school the next day hungover. Link to comment
Foster14
I was at work the next day, slightly hungover, tequila for each goal and 2 hours sleep. Thankfully it was only a half day, and then out for Mad Friday. The draw also helped perk me up a fair bit. Couldn't do that nowadays, would be struggling big time. Brilliant game though, I think amplified with the low expectation levels beforehand. Some great goals from Smith. It was a shame he was always injured, him and Lee Miller were a great partnership. On Jamie Smith, it would be interesting to see if he would have been able to stay fit more often if the guys that dealt with Pawlett had been around at the time... Link to comment
StandFree1982
Those Vuvuzela really made a difference to the atmosphere. A lot of folk hated them, but it just built a wall of noise around the stadium that has been unmatched since (bar the Bayern Game). It was the second goal that I lost it. The first was brilliant, but the second really cemented the fact that we MIGHT ACTUALLY DO THIS! Link to comment
minijc
Annoyingly he missed the easiest chance of the night Link to comment
Guest
Aye, pretty dull atmosphere wasn't it Those horns won that game for us... the players were totally buzzin cause of the noise that it generated. Link to comment
Foster14
I still have my vuvuzela... Link to comment
StandFree1982
Vernon and Miller are much of a muchness. But let's not get into that! That was probably the last time I've seen us win a game that has really meant something. Link to comment
Stoney
Even frankie will agree verno is far better than miller. Link to comment
Huntlysheep
Was probably the best night i witnessed at pittodrie. Wow was great atmosphere that night, wonder what ever happened to Jamie Smith? On his day a great player. Link to comment
The Oxford Don
Amazing atmosphere, although for sheer entertainment and 'holy crap WTF just happened' factor I marginally preferred the Bayern 2-2 game. I almost floated back down the road to Edinburgh after the Copenhagen game, rarely has a football match made me that happy. I was like a zombie at work the following day, but happy on the inside! Guest
Meaningless game. A meaningless victory, the only one of six or eight games played in that campaign where we actually scored more than the opposition and a win that meant absolutely fuck all in the overall scheme of things. Apart from something big to losers who have never won anything. Is this what we're becoming? A team who have no history of winning anything supported by people who have never seen us win anything and by people who have zero expectations of us ever winning anything? Miller and Calderwood have won. The weegies hated us and still do, for our overwhelming arrogance in spitting our many advantages back in their faces and our lack of compassion in reminding them of their many disadvantages. Who's to say that they were wrong? Link to comment
rgudon
Imagine what Mcinnes could do with the money Calderwood had..... Link to comment
Guest
Sorry mt, I forgot. There was an end result to that group game after all. Link to comment
zander
Quite a remarkable win when you consider some of the baloons playing for us that night.Diamond,TFWTG,Clark etc Link to comment
The Cockney Don
Seems a lot longer than six year ago that game . Link to comment
amancalledbuck
Probably the only time I've stayed till the final whistle. Fucking amazing night. Link to comment
goteborg83
One of the best nights of my life, never been to a game with a better atmosphere ever Link to comment
tightbreeks
it's strange that the club didn't pick up on the atmosphere that night. we could have harnessed the power of the vuvuzela for the following games just to see what happened. Link to comment
The Boofon
Missed most of the match due to mixing vodka and Valium and therefore seeing double and unable to stand. Fell into a bunker on way home. Link to comment
don corleone
still one of the best nights I've ever experienced at pittodrie. Atmosphere was electric, second half was fucking great. still got the shirt lee miller wore in the match signed by the squad hanging on my wall. great night. Link to comment
