CalgaryDon
http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20140516/peter-pawlett-mark-reynolds_2212158_3835297? Great news for both players. Only downside is they will not get much of a break before our season starts. Hopeful more Aberdeen players can break into the squad in the future. Link to comment

Red Dragon
Well done guys, well deserved. But fuck, they'll nae be getting much of a break. Link to comment
hopeisimportant
Delighted for them but not ideal at all! Another 2 weeks cut off their already short close season. Not sure how much chance they actually have of playing either. If they do get a chance, hopefully they will put on a decent performance to make sure they are not overlooked for competitive games. Byrne Baby Byrne
For fuck sake - this is the one squad I don't want to see them in. They've been shite recently anyway Typical Scotland calling up English players Link to comment
minijc
Happy for both especially Reynolds however, I don't think Pawlett deserves a call up especially on recent form, been very poor after his injury and even in some games before it he wasn't having the best of times as he was drifting in and out of the games, still it's great for both. He made the team of the year though so Strachan maybe just wants to see how he integrates with the squad. Link to comment

a don in oz
Great news for them both; I'm sure neither of them will give half a shit about their close season being truncated to get a chance to be in an international squad and hopefully get some game time. Link to comment
a don in oz
Not uncoincidentally too but now I actually give a shit about this game... wonder if it'll be on online anywhere. Link to comment
tommo1903
2 week break before the squad meet up, and likely another 2 week break after. They'll be fine. Link to comment
True_Don
Can only help to attract summer signings Play well well for Aberdeen = Scotland call up. Link to comment
TwoStars
I'm sure both of them will be chuffed. Well done to the pair of them. Even though it's a meaningless friendly. Link to comment
daytripping
Why play a friendly in the break?? Waste of time, they should feign an injury. Link to comment
TwoStars
Why play a friendly in the break?? Waste of time, they should feign an injury. It is very random. Then again, for the likes of Hutton it's a chance to actually play. Link to comment
boboisared
Why play a friendly in the break?? Waste of time, they should feign an injury.Nigeria would have been looking for fodder to get their confidence up for the World Cup. A Nigerian Prince will have offered the SFA a substantial amount to play and we've bitten their hands off. We'll now have to pay for their travel, accommodation, local transport and meals before finding out we've been ripped off. 1 Link to comment
spamspamspam
Not sure why people are worried about them not getting much of a break, they werent getting much of one anyway and part of their break is to keep as fit as possible for coming back. Its a week of training and then sitting on the bench, I doubt either will start. I'm delighted for both, Reynolds deserves it the most IMO. Not that Pawlett hasnt done well just that I think there are a few similar and some better attacking midfield options for Scotland right now. Defence wise though not picking Reynolds would've been a real smack in the face when you look at the players that have been picked ahead of him lately. Link to comment
dj_bollocks
Waste of time friendly but the SFA will no doubt have been paid handsomely for it... Thankfully they'll be lucky if they each get 10 mins, be good for them to be involved in training and see the set up etc... Link to comment
Tord31
Pointless friendly or not would be good to see Reynolds especially become an International player Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Who'd have thought it eh. Mixed feelings on here for them. I for one am chuffed for them & I'm sure they are both delighted & will not grudge losing a few more days off. They likely will not play anyway but the experience will be great for them. TopDon
I'm going to go against the grain and say this is great timing. Our season had a bit of an anti-climax but this should show our team and any summer targets what can be achieved at AFC. Their is ample time to recover from this and reckon pawlett and co will be back on form what with Scotland and Europe to look forward to. Link to comment
The Lighthouse
Good luck to both of them - its been far too long since we had Dons players in the main Scotland squad. Link to comment
