On Holiday In Glasgow

Glad you had a good time. Torres wouldn't be my first stop - I'll give you a better tip for tapas next time. :)

Which club/pubs were you in?

God knows on the whole, could describe the club but have no idea its name, Sauchiehall street I think, not the garage or victorias, big place with a really long bar to the left as you came in, big dancefloor on a lower level to the right. Went to most of the pubs on that street and close by, do recall Molly Malones, watched the 3rd place play off in there but then some Irish band came on and they were tragic so we left, also recall Walkabout, Sammy Dows (some proper karaoke experts in there), counting house, some bierhall off a pedestrian area, great outside seating area there and top class beers.

Did pay £3 to get into a grotty pub/club across from the casinos, it was cack, was the reason the casino was chosen next.

Fry up on Sunday morning at Droughtys was great, huge serving, also went to a place that only sold belgian chips, that was in the early hours, can't recall if they were good or not.

Is it Bath Street that Bunker and that was on? I remember Firewater being another popular haunt to go in my Uni/pre-gig drinking days.

By the sound of things it would have been Bier Halle Republic you were in. Remember getting the only chick in my class drunk on strawberry or raspberry beers in there then back to her flat in Merchant City for a bit of slap and tickle. Good days.

Bunker is indeed on Bath Street. Firewater is on Sauchiehall.

I like Glasgow too, we always get picked up by the same taxi driver called Eddie when we are down for Scotland games, he picks us up and gives us a tinnie each and takes us right up to Hampden Stadium and picks us up right outside straight after the game, hands us all another tinnie and takes us back in to the city centre. Fair enough we load his pockets with notes but still a top bloke is Eddie. :thumbup1:

One thing i'll never go to Glasgow for......watching Scotland

Weegieville is one of the places i'm thinking of relocating to.

I just go along for the piss-up on the train down with old work mates.

Why on earth would you move to Weegieville?

Actually that is a lie, last time we got picked up from a crazy Indian guy in a turban that used to live on George Street! He was singing Aberdeen songs and speaking in a tcheuchter accent.

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself dayts. Sauchiehall st isn't the best if streets to visit now, but ati offers entertainment. The merchant city is a cracking wee place to visit for boozers/people watching as well as the west end.

The Bier Halle (in Gordon street for future ref!) is one of my favourite haunts, and has been for years. The pizzas are immense, as well as the beers on offer, obviously.

The Lab, which is about 2 mins walk across Buchanan st and up a lane, is a nice wee place aswell.

Yeah I'm reformed, loved it. I even got speaking to a couple jungle jims in a pub, they were actually ok, they recommended we went to the merchant city but time was getting on so just went to the casino instead.

Some of the buskers are quality, watched quite a few in the couple days I was there.

Weegies never tire of bumming the place up, what pish they all talk. Here's the reality:

An outbreak of norovirus has seen 180 odd folk fall ill just before the waste of taxpayers cash that is the Commonwealth Games starts.

This virus is associated with poor hygiene.

As the weegies would say, shockerooni.
