Agreed, I think the players did well in the campaign and on the night against a team clearly a cut above us.

 

The draw was very unkind to us, but we acquitted ourselves well - especially as this is still a fledgling team early in the managers tenure.

Aye but Stuttgart played 4 foreign players when only 3 were allowed. Sounded like all 4 played the full game.

Really good effort from Dm and the team. Played well and deserved a result on the night. It was good to see that we can play a different way tactically with a different formation. We almost managed to salvage the tie after losing that dreaded first goal. Our late subs didn't really work but tiredness was beginning to show at that stage. Looking forward to the new season.

Play with 1/2 the spirit we did tonight and we will win a hell of a lot of games - but reckon we will need quite a few changes for Saturday - good thing is I feel we have the bench to do so this season

 

After such dross recently especially under Mcghee it is such a strange feeling I have at the moment trying to fully understand what its is

Bloody hell Bamber, I agree with every word of this! Our passion, passing, movement and team spirit were all fantastic.

 

Very proud of that and am taking huge optimism into the new season. I really hope we can hit the ground running and take advantage of superior sharpness against those who have been playing competitively yet. What a chance we have to do something special!

Sickening in certain aspects, to not get a result after putting so much into a match against a team like them.

 

We put in one hell of a shift and to even get to 2-1 and able to think "if we get another..." was great. Shame on the fans who walked out after the penalty was scored. Our team deserved some sort of response at the end of the game, not just for tonight but for the games against Riga and Gronigen too. So what if you wanted to get to your car a few minutes early or whatever lame excuse you have, show some respect.

I thought we were fantastic tonight. Everyone put in a shift but I thought Anderson, Reynolds and Jack were brilliant. We pushed a very good team hard and were unlucky not to get at least a draw.

 

Nobody would be surprised to see Sociedad in the final come may so it was a massive task for us over two legs.

 

It shows the type of performance we are capable of so there is absolutely no reason we can't push the tims hard this year if we work hard, get early points on the board and get some momentum.

Hard to read too much in to the game as the pressure was off us really, and not sure how much they turned up at first. They were certainly rattled and we played some really good football at times tonight. In the end, chasing the game and the effort put in over the fixtures so far caught up on them resulted in the loss. If 2-1 had been enough to go through, we'd have held out.

 

Anyhoo, that is the European jolly over and from what I have seen, I think we look better than we did last season. Bodes well for the season ahead.

We did our best, it wasnt enough. For the fist time, in a long time, i am proud of the dons. We were outclassed but gave as much as we could. We were up againsed it from the off but we made a great go of it and for a while I thought we might just do it. No shame at all. None. Stand free. Roll on sunday COYR
