Do We Have A Chance V Rs At Pittodrie?

Recommended Posts

We have nothing to lose, 2-0 down from the first leg so no excuses, we should go out there and attack, last season the games we done this in we battered team, 1st half away to ICT being a great example, I know they are shite compare to Sociedad but you never know, big crowd, lots of noise and playing without much pressure.

We are a better team when we try and attack -the factor that will determine how successful we are is the real difference between RS and ourselves and probably the ambient temperature - cold and wet with the ball skidding around, a motivated crowd and us up and at them and perhaps we have a chance - they can of course try and pick us off - I'd play on the counter if I was RS and only get twitchy and attack minded if RS lose one early - if RS score it is effectively all over baring a Drew Jarvie three quick goals lads and we're back in it.

Most definitely in it although cannot overlook they are technically a vastly superior side.

An early goal - any goal - would be nice to get the juices flowing but do it too early and they'll come out and play. 0-0 at half time gives us our best chance in my opinion. Get one in the second 45 in that kind of atmosphere and we'll surely get a second. Get a second and anything could happen.

Goal for them = tatties with mince (herbs optional)

Their game plan as above will be to pick us off on the break early. Game over.

Why do people think a full Pittodrie will rattle a team that plays at the Nou Camp etc? This isn't turkey. It's the quietest ground in Britain. That famous aberdeen fb page is full of morons.

As a 21500 strong Pittodrie crowd is much more intimidating than their athletics stadium. The Spanish fans aren't very vocal, even though they may have larger stadia and a larger fan base. Atmosphere wise, if you were at Copenhagen, Bayern etc then it's surely a bigger advantage than you claim to state. They will not have many, if any, fans that travel over for the game so we have to use this to our advantage.

If there is 21500 there next week I'll eat MiniJC's wank sock.

As true as that may be; 21,500 folk at Pittodrie isn't nearly as intimidating as 99,000 pricks at the Nou Camp or 81,000 fans at the Bernabau.

or 57,000 fans at Seville.

or 55,000 fans at Valencia.

or 54,000 pricks at Atletico.

or 54,000 fans at Bilboa.

or 51,000 fans at Betis.

And all this is overlooking the fact that all these Spanish teams are significantly better than us.

They bring on Canales, we bring on er... Nicky Low. As much as I like the boy, the 2 players are in different leagues.

Literally.

I think the size of our pitch is more of an advantage to us than the crowd particularly.

But a large crowd close to the pitch, and a small pitch helps us against the big teams - Bayern found it difficult against us in the 2-2 game and Copenhagen also.

I think we have a chance.
