Sartorial Advice (Need New Winter / Rain Jacket)

When I see anyone in Berghaus or North Face, I think boring bastard.

Barbour is only good for women. My wife's is class. Men with Barbour are wankers and with the new big fuck off labels, very sad.

I would recommend my preferred choices but I wouldn't want to be common.

You get what you pay for.

Hipster cunt.

Here here.

Berghaus\North Face = Jurgen the German.

Not cool for a modern day man.

Or in this part of the world, a dipshit oily with no class who thinks spending 80 or a hunner makes him speshul just cos he's the first cunt in his family who ever spent more than forty on a jaiket.

Not necessarily a Jurgen.

Hipster cunt.

Fuck all hip about me. I have three waterproof jackets, other than golf gear.

One I've had for over 20 years, I haven't worn for nearly 20 years. Drizabone. No doubt it's waterproof but I don't choose to leave the house when it's pissing down so I've not tested it.

Animal. Good general functional jacket.

Rohan. Stylish. Very class. Going to get another in the other colour. Will last for life.

Rohan gear is very nice right enough, friend of mine owns a couple of items.

When I bought this jacket off the shelf late last year, I'd never heard of the brand. Never seen the shop either until I walked in there and spent the most I had ever done on a jacket. Some of their stuff is just boring and plain but some of their other designs are awesome. Some dude on here was raving about Rohan after I bought this een.

The £30 tee shirt I got there is a favourite, and averaging five or six times what I normally spent on tees, it fucking should be. Awesome material. I want to shag myself when I wear it, I feel and look that good.

Not a huge fan of Rohan overall but selectively, got some great gear.

The best sartorial advice you can ever have is to buy Kuhl troosers. Discovered it earlier this year.

I got a mate of mine a pair of Rydr recently. I have 2 x Rydr and another I canna mind the name of. Revolvr maybe.

Available at the Tiso shop but a bigger selection on the US website. Be warned that you pay £20 import duty when collecting from Parcel Force.

Comfiest and greatest looking gear. The material is so good you have to catch yourself rubbing yer ba's in material appreciation.

Another garment that makes me want to fuck my own brains out.

Thank you everyone, much appreciated.

As you can tell, I am about as stylish as a Lada Riva.

(not as bad as my colleagues though; not uncommon for them to wear hiking boots in to their desk job. My done-in clarks shoes look much better ;) )

Some excellent suggestions given, including brands I had never heard of before.

FjallRaven.

Like it - some cracking options there. Good colours too, I like sand / olive green etc.

I tend to prefer stowable hoods, im not sure how some of these ones work, but will check it out.

Aberdeen has way less rainfall than Glasgow, our weather isn't so bad.

I know haha - I always suggest the east is wetter than the west, just to see how folk react.

A guy from fife once lunged at me, spitting rainfall figures

Barbour

A good shout, thank you, some very nice stuff there. However I tend to find that more upmarket/stylish brands can be quite unforgiving to my figure lol, so I might be better off with the function of Fjallraven.

Thanks again, all, some great food for thought.

:)

Edit - Fjallraven site says Tiso Glasgow is a stockist, might check it out tommorrow.....
