Sartorial Advice (Need New Winter / Rain Jacket)

Thank you everyone, much appreciated.

As you can tell, I am about as stylish as a Lada Riva.

(not as bad as my colleagues though; not uncommon for them to wear hiking boots in to their desk job. My done-in clarks shoes look much better ;) )

Some excellent suggestions given, including brands I had never heard of before.Like it - some cracking options there. Good colours too, I like sand / olive green etc.

I tend to prefer stowable hoods, im not sure how some of these ones work, but will check it out.I know haha - I always suggest the east is wetter than the west, just to see how folk react.

A guy from fife once lunged at me, spitting rainfall figures :laughing:A good shout, thank you, some very nice stuff there. However I tend to find that more upmarket/stylish brands can be quite unforgiving to my figure lol, so I might be better off with the function of Fjallraven.

Thanks again, all, some great food for thought.

:)

Edit - Fjallraven site says Tiso Glasgow is a stockist, might check it out tommorrow.....

Aye ok.

Jeez min, chill out lgir.

I'm just expressing that berghauses north faces and the like are not cool.

Sure liam Gallagher and myself in my Edinburgh years could pull off a skiing jacket in the pub but times change.

Not saying either are cool, but I would be very wary taking advice, on whats cool or not, from someone who gets a name and number on the back of a football strip.

Thats the exact colour too, I really like it. Its well made and comfortable.

The bigger pockets at the bottom have "lips" to prevent water getting into them.

I got some of the wax too, so I can reinforce is waterproofing - my only grip was the cost of the "greenland wax" (£14) v pricey.

And I noted it was actually made in norway, not greenland a case for trading standards methinks

I bet you can find similar, non-branded, less expensive wax to do the same job.

Aye bertoids trust me I'm avande garde I wear stuff that nae the norm but still equally timeless.

These plasticky functional one jacket does all types are more run of the mill Volvo type clothing.

Not for a man like me who dresses for the occasion.

Do you ever think "ach I'll nae bother posting that" when you type a post Bluto?

I like the look of the 'winter' version of that as well. And their big parka. All their stuff looks good tbh.

Great choice CS and I agree with DD1903. I'm in the market for a Greenland Winter and am waiting for feedback from the states from where I hope to get one for £150... The Dunderdon J38 had been my first choice but you can't get them for love nor money these days.
