twelveby12
Hey Folks, I hope you can forgive me posting again, but it worked well last time, so I am hoping it does again. I am making this wee post. I recently made a donation of £2400 to Maggie's Centres which will sponsor a whole day at their awesome centre in Glasgow. I am currently holding a mini auction, themed to Cup Finals, and its running to tomorrow night. Included are several signed items from the 2014 League Cup Final, ranging from multi signed photos and teamsheets to some awesome signed items from Niall McGinn. There is bidding on a few items already, but some still have openers to come in and there are bargains to be had. Check out http://one4themoney.wordpress.com for more info. The money raised is going to Maggie's again, if you haven't checked them out before, google them and find out more. I've also got a massive sports themed charity auction running right now, with loads of items running for the next week, including loads of Olympic and Commonwealth stars... from signed photos, to race numbers to worn kit, there's loads there. That auction is part of my fundraising for Children with Cancer UK ahead of the London Marathon in 2015. Thanks for putting up with my posts. The players have been awesome spreading the word on twitter, so hopefully some more money can come in for an awesome charity.ThanksRobin Link to comment

I've been in the Maggies Centre in Aberdeen - amazing place and they do amazing work. Good luck with raising funds for the Maggies Glasgow but I'll donate instead to Maggies Aberdeen, Twelveby12 Link to comment
daytripping
Got to agree with the comments, charity starts at home. Saying that I think we as a group here could do more for local charity, the girl who climbed some Mountain must have made a mint of the posters here, no one minds donating if it's a good local cause. Maybe something for the mods to think about, we have a free forum here with plenty nice people on it, we could harness that to help someone or some group who may need it, think a specific local cause would work better. Just a thought. BTW I might have bought the team sheet if it was the Scottish cup for Aberdeen, lets not get deluded, the league cup is mickey mouse stuff, was a great day but the euphoria was over the top. ChutneyLove
If Niall McGinn's pants are up for auction, maybe a few of the sniff-crew might get into a bidding battle. In no time, Maggie's will be all up itself and called Margaret's. Link to comment
twelveby12
Guys, that's something I will never argue with, I firmly believe in the charity, that's why I dedicate so much of my time to fundraising for causes like this, and would love it if each and every one of you made a wee donation to Maggie's Aberdeen. If I lived in Aberdeen I would be backing the centre there but for me, it's not about where someone comes from, or what city they live in...it's about providing support for people who need it. The players have been awesome enough to sign these items for me, and I hope they raise the most they can, the bids are already pretty good and I am very happy with the amount that will be added. Bear in mind, I didn't post asking anyone to donate to a centre, I posted to let you all know I have a couple of cool Aberdeen items available for auction, arranged by Niall for me to use, and it would be remiss of me not to let as many fans know as possible about the auctions. If anyone is interested, please give me a yell. ThanksRobin Link to comment

Perhaps you're the one to lead that and push forward a wee charity movement within your forum. Pick a cause which means something to you all and do something amazing :D Ha, yeah, maybe about the Scottish Cup... have to be honest, I thought you guys were a shoe in to win it last year but I'm kinda glad you didn't in the end, the amount of money I raised from St Johnstone items was mindblowing. That being said.. a signed League Cup Final teamsheet which could currently be won for a £30 bid... not to bad that Link to comment
