Ideally, yes. I'd love for there to be no nuclear weapons, but that would entail none of the world having them and who's going to enforce that I have no clue.

You don't get change from protest groups on core issues of government which having nukes is.

 

You get change when those policies are taken up by political parties and those political parties get clout.

 

That is what happened in Scotland. The next step was yesterday and Scotland fell and North Britain arose instead of it.

 

So Trident is here to stay, specifically in North Britain. Until it's replaced by Son of Trident, also in North Britain.

I'm nae sure I'd agree. It works, but I wouldn't say that having something with such a magnitude of power is a success for anyone. I think "it succeeded as a deterrent in that conflict" is a more apt statement but there's a lot more to consider than just the outcome of the Cold War.

Complete lunacy to waste billions on replacing something you know you cannot use. A nuclear war would just about end civilisation. Why even take the chance on having the weapons responsible. How can we lecture other nations that they shouldn't have them if we do ourselves. As for preventing another world war what about all the other countries that do not have them off the top of my head Switzerland, Nederlands, Norway, Canada and tons of others. They seem to be getting by just fine.

Snp said a yes vote and it was gone in 10 years. It should not be towed downstream but decommissioned and in the long run it will save money and make our country safer. Anyway that's me off my soapbox now.

First guys response was "Are you going to tell America and France to do so as well"
