Dynamo
Looked a bad one...so Robson or Low to come in and replace him?Think I'd prefer Low on the basis Robson has looked past it whenever he's played this season. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Couldn't make last night so not really fair to comment, but its never stopped me before! Assuming Jack and McGinn still out I would have thought Low and Flood in the middle with Robson wide right and keep the three up front. Robson and Flood would be best in that crucial middle area where they're bound to try and bully us out of the game, but no way will Robson last 90 minutes of it (remember was it hearts last year when he got sent off for the last ditch tackle on the half way line as they broke). Equally if Robson is in the middle that puts Low out right and suffice to say reports aren't in his favour regarding that position. Monokana for a start and use Low to replace Robson when he tires? Smith, likewise? Tell you what, having Anderson, McGinn and Jack out and still having options is very pleasing. Another box ticked for deek. Another classic case (given ICT's start to the season) where we could get a lead and then try to sit in and protect it and maybe catch them on the break. Confidence in last line of defence for this tactic. What comes in at less than zero? We'll just go deeper and deeper and deeper. Link to comment
StandFree1982
McGinn should hopefully be back for Saturday, McInnes mentioned that he was definitely out for last nights game, but never mentioned Saturday so hopefully he's back. Losing Jack is a blow, however it is the position that we have the most cover for so it won't be as big a loss as say losing Reynolds. Link to comment
Tord31
Nothing broken for Jack. Knee injury and waiting on scan. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
If McGinn is doubtful at all I would leave him out and use him to freshen up St M and Dundee. Link to comment
Red Dragon
Straight swap of Low for Jack and Monakana for Mcginn (if struggling). Expecting a 4-2-3-1 for Saturday with Consi for Goodwillie (Hayes moving forward) and Clangers taking the gloves ClangersLogan Taylor Reynolds ConsiLow FloodMonakana/McGinn Pawlett HayesRooooooney Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Disappointingly, I agree unless, with Mcginn out, he tried to fit Rooney in there with Pawlett deeper? Link to comment
dj_bollocks
I'll be disappointed with a 4-2-3-1 on Saturday… Time to test if we can play 4-4-2 against a semi decent form team... Link to comment
muttonhumper
McGinn should hopefully be back for Saturday, McGinn said in TSL last night that Sat would prob be too soon for him and that he hoped to be back for St. Mirren game. Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
I reckon Jack's season is over. Which would be a massive blow for us. Link to comment
muttonhumper
Medial ligament mentioned by McInnes on post match interview RedtV. Link to comment
Tord31
So your assuming cruciate ligament Geoff Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Thats what I am fearing, yes. Link to comment
Tord31
Would make a wild guesses for knee injuries Strained ligaments : 4 weeksMedial ligament : 6-12 weeksCruciate ligament : 9 - 12 months Link to comment
StandFree1982
McGinn said in TSL last night that Sat would prob be too soon for him and that he hoped to be back for St. Mirren game.Ah fair doos. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
If it's cruciate ligament he won't be back for a year. Hopefully it isn't. Good job the players dont have to rely on the NHS or he wouldn't even get his scan for over a year!! Link to comment
Pudgie
Heard he walked out of Pittodrie so that could rule out some injuries. Link to comment
Tord31
Only miss 3 games nae too bad Robson the man to replace him Link to comment
dejanflapovic
Robson? isnt it time McInnes looked forward and started playing some of the younger players? they will get dropped anyway when Jack is fit so makes no odds. Robson still has something to offer but not as a regular starter Link to comment
StandFree1982
Good time for Low to step up and stake a claim for a first team start. Robson is the obvious choice alongside Flood, but I would like McInnes to be giving Low a chance as well. Link to comment
Macski
I'd also prefer to see Low given his chance, with the security of Robson coming off the bench if required. I expect it to be the other way around though, with Low replacing Robson when he tires. Link to comment
Dandyesque
I'd play Robson first. If Low was anywhere near as good, he'd be an automatic first pick already. Link to comment
fifered
low has got to start for jack. Robson has been off the pace this season. Low gives us a bit of extra pace that Robson just can't do these days. We'll particularly need that if we go with Rooney and goodwillie up front. Link to comment
Stoney
low will do fine in the middle, at least hes positive Link to comment
Redstar
Low has stepped up to the plate...unlike Cammy Smith...who has failed to live up to the hype generated by The GWT and Ollie1903...wiki quotes a great one... Smith is primarily a striker but can also play in midfield. His Aberdeen manager Craig Brown said that he was, "a strong, gifted striker." and said that he played like Dennis Bergkamp but was built like Joe Harper. From what I saw against Ross County...the GWT has got his Dennis's mixed up...yes he is built like Harper...but the performance was more akin to Les...rather than Bergkamp... 1 Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Haha Would like to see Cammy Smith loaned out to another Premiership team. Needs a run of games in behind the strikers I reckon... But I wouldn't drop Pawlett Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Robson for me starting ahead of Low.Not just for the Caley game either. Last season I wasn't happy with Robson for the first half of the season really. He was a bit of a let down I thought. Yes I know he got injured but even after he returned, it took him ages to contribute anything near what we all knew he was able to & that was why I felt he was a bit of a let down BUT second half of the season he was fkn awesome. I haven't forgotten just how good he was for the side & especially the tail end when the rest of the team seemed to be wilting.Robson carried the team in a lot of games during the business end of season. He hasn't been great so far this season but I don't think he's just lost his fitness, or turned into a journey man quite yet.Low has had some good games this season & yes it would be harsh to not give him his chance but I don't think he'd be too hard done by to lose his starting slot to Robson. He'll still get decent game time anyway. Besides, without Anderson it cannot do any harm to have Robson's leadership quallities out there. Robson can dictate a game just by being there. Also be quite nice to see Rooney, Hayes & Robson all getting goals against their old side on Sat. Then Shinnie would know just where he should be playing in Jan Link to comment
ollie1903
Low has stepped up to the plate...unlike Cammy SmithHahaha. Low has stepped up to the plate? Bearing in mind that Low is almost 4 years older than Smith, and people debate whether he should be pitched in or not as a replacement for an injured player, I'd say he very much hasn't, stepped up to the plate.
