a don in oz
No... not quite. Handsfree. Still propped up on the desk. Have a look at dorks using the 5.5+ inch phones now. You don't need to be using a tablet to look like an idiot making calls these days. Link to comment
boboisared
My contract was due to upgrade on the 1st of January this year. To my surprise I have not had one call from any companies offering me an upgrade etc etc. Is this a new thing? At the time of my last renewal I had folk phoning me months early offering to pay out my contract to switch to their companies. Looks like I'm going to have to phone EE to upgrade myself (my phone is fucked, pretty much beyond repair). Anyone else experienced similar? Link to comment
DD1903
Yeah. Exact same - Each time my contract was due I was pestered and pestered. But this time around, not one call me either. I'm with tmob/EE aswell. Link to comment

Went to EE/Orange with it and the refused to go near it, even thoguh he'd been with them 5+ years. Strange. Link to comment

Although the guy upgraded my data usage limit by 10g. I'm only still with them as I have a friends and family deal through a mate of a mate (who no longer works there), so save 40% on my bills. I'd probably have been away if it hadn't been for that. T mob were pish and EE aren't much better tbh Link to comment

a don in oz
Get the Samsung. Nah you don't want to buy from the old Apple copier. You want to get from the new Apple copier. They're cheaper. http://www.cultofandroid.com/66569/xiaomi-dont-copy-apple/ Link to comment

No idea how I'm even on this deal. My cousins husband used to work for Carphone Warehouse. I'm assuming I must have bought a phone through him?! In regards to your earlier comments about customer service, that's a surprise. T-mobile and EE have always been spot on with me. Had many problems with O2 and 3 though. StandFree1982
I'm looking at maybe getting the HTC One M8. It might sound like an english motorway, but it's meant to be exceptional and much better than the new Samsung Galaxy S5. Link to comment

Had an HTC before and it was decent but had terrible battery life. Probably sorted that issue now though. The Iphone is the worst 'smart' phone I've had though, by some distance too. Link to comment

The camera on the M8 is supposed to be very good and it's getting really good reviews. Battery life....you could try the Sony Experia Z3, 2 days batter life apparently. Link to comment

boboisared
Also, can anyone recommend a particular brand or website for phone covers? I've googled but I have no idea when it comes to this sort of thing. I've never bought one yet have damaged everything single smart phone I've had. Bog standard of show offy ones, either wis fine. That'll be an adventure for them. I'll need to see if my mate knows anyone down there for some updates. As for t mob/EE. I meant more in terms of signal. Pretty poor at times. A lot of networks have stopped selling via other companies and are only using their own websites and stores to sell now. I'd guess thats why you're not getting the same amount of calls and offers. Ke1t
I'm neither very young, very old, and I'm fairly tech savvy. My iPhone does me fine, as it's supplied by my work and costs me fuck all. I've had HTC, iPhones, and Samsung in recent years... HTC was just a feckless brick, the Apple was so crippled I couldn't stand it, the Samsung is just a drag and drop C: Drive effectively. My loon has an iPhone, because he can't fuck it up. My old dear has the iPhone because she's your stereotypical old person. The iPhone is great at what it's supposed to do, unfortunately I just won't deal with iTunes, the lack of detectable drive, the lack of expansion, the welded-in battery, or any of the numerous other things about it that do my head in. And at a premium price. I think the final straw for me was when they pulled all the porn apps. Fuck that.. if I want a porn app I should have access to porn apps. I don't need Cupertino telling me I can't see porn on their device. Link to comment
