I'm only guessing here but I'd say a car travelling within the speed limit would probably have had the same end result. Link to comment

I'm sure out of the 3 or 4 cars that hit him one would have been an illegal, probably on cruise control at 80. Link to comment

RAZOR
Got flashed by the last one before you come into Dundee yesterday. Definitely dodgy as I was on cruise control the same speed the whole journey and never got flashed previously. What's the crack with avoiding these points and fine when it comes in? Ignore the letter? Appeal? Any other tips? 104 mph. Wouldn't worry bud. Not sure they would take a Clio seriously. Link to comment
Chewie37
Isn't the last camera on the downhill stretch? You've probably crept up over 80 before the cruise control kicked in. Most of the old loopholes to get out of fines have been closed off. If you ignore it they can put the points on your licence anyway at the DVLA which can be a shock later. Don't know how often they actually bother putting film in the fixed ones anymore, think the Dundee cops prefer having cars and mobile camera units out to catch out folk speeding in the bits where folk aren't expecting to be caught, so you might be lucky Link to comment

Maybe the second last one then. If it comes in then fair enough. Lesson learned on the way home anyway with the cruise set a couple mph lower. Still a bit miffed about it. Link to comment
ChutneyLove
Set your cruise control at 70mph, that would be much more sensible. 3 Link to comment

Pash
Fit happened Boofon? I got a letter through for that bit a few weeks ago saying I was doing 70mph, replied saying it was me driving and just got a letter today saying that the Camera Safety Unit can't deal with it as I was going so fast! Tried to call but no answer. Like you my cruise control was set (at 70) and I did not see a sign saying 50 until after I passed the camera. You could count the amount of times I have driven that road on two or three fingers so pretty pissed off. I was just driving my new car up from Preston, so had driven the car for only a few hours and I reckon I must have been playing with buttons or something and missed the 50 sign. If I was going to get caught speeding on prupose I would do it in style and go 155 nae bloody 70 ffs. Link to comment

Never heard fuck all so presume it either was too close to call or I imagined the whole thing and it was someone else who got flashed. More likely the former as there wasn't another car going the same way behind me. Nae counting my chickens yet though. Link to comment

Only two of them got pickled by it. The other two clearly a bit more switched on with regards to the solar eclipse. Link to comment
