It's very odd but I get why he does it, he's actually like that in person too talking to normal folk in general about the game we love, he said at his Q&A that he doesn't care if people think he's kissing arse as he knows it works and opens up many doors for him to get new interviews, the guests know they are in for an easy ride but he will ask something that others won't. He's highly regarded in international football, obviously working close to Barca and Spain has helped by he seems to get on very well with a lot of top players.
