Cross Border Cup Competition

There needs to be a UK League, supplemented by regional leagues for the diddy clubs.

The 'We'll never win another European trophy if we play in a UK League' argument is pish, because the reality is that the way things stand we're never winning another European trophy. Clogging around in a backwater league like the SPFL might give us the opportunity to make the fringes of Euro competition in the form of play-offs, but as far as challenging for European silverware on our budget, with the players we can atttract, not going to happen.

Scotland... ABERDEEN... voted to be British, so what's the problem with playing in a British League, against better, more varied teams, for more money, in a better stadium, with modern facilities?

No fucking wonder the city can't even organise the building of a bypass.

Heids out of arses.

If an average Celtic team can get to the last 16, there's no reason a good Celtic team couldn't win the Europa League.

Aberdeen are better than Celtic cos I say so, therefore we'll win the champions league soon.

Six defeats in Europe in one season, a record, suggests they are shit, not average.

Would have been even more if not for Craig Gordon.

20 years too late with this idea.

While appealing in a number of ways for many scottish teams, top English clubs won't have any interest in coming to play scottish teams who they see as way beneath them.

They barely give a fuck about the FA cup these days as it is without this

Russell Anderson.

Who's next up in the did alright in Scotland, went to the English lower leagues and made an arse of himself, and then came back to great effect?

Steven WTF?

Shite in Scotland & an ever present for potential Premiership bound Norwich.

He's fkn SHITE.

Can see Norwich getting automatic promotion & that Boro shite having to try & get up via the playoffs.

Yet he is still first pick in his position for Scotland, in a Scotland side that is doing not bad at the moment.

This sounds even worse than the OP:

Scottish football bosses are to hold talks with Uefa this week as they seek permission to implement a radical overhaul of the Challenge Cup to include teams from Northern Ireland and Wales, plus some of Britain's top youth players. Scotland's lower league clubs could be joined by two teams each from Northern Ireland and Wales, while the SPFL also hope to attract English Premiership under-20 sides.
