I only got into football at the very late age of 43. After splitting with the bitch I used to be married to I was living alone. With little to do I was down the pub every night. Having been to a few Dons games in the 80s and seen them play under Fergie and since they never have Scottish games on in pubs down here I started to watch Man Utd games (because and only because I've always admired Fergie). When he retired I went back to my roots and started following the Dons and annoying people with my schoolboy type enthusiasm for the Dons. Everybody at my work know the bigot brothers aren't the only teams in the SPFL.

What separates Fergie from Del. All Fergie's teams had bottle. They all played right up to the last minute and often got winning goals in Fergie time. I member a game in October 2011. My mate Alan and I had strayed into Man City pub full of dickheads taking the pass out of the ManUtd fans cos they were hammering them. Final score Utd 1 City 6. The united players were still going for goals right up to the final whistle. I remember that Fergie bollocked Darren Fletcher afterwards for being to far forward and leaving them exposed at the back. That attack, attack, never say die approach was so deeply ingrained that he couldn't stop himself. 5 goals down and still trying to get 6 goals to win. Del needs to instil that spirit in our team or we won't be winning many more trophies.

we DID attack till the final minute

hence getting picked off and losing the 3rd and 4th!

the problem on sunday wasnt bottle

it was a lack of a good keeper, a proper left back, a centre mid with bite and a centre mid who has bite, but can also play football

Correct.

The left back bit I disagree with. Don't think he could be blamed for much on Sunday. Maybe poor positioning for the corner coming in but that's being very harsh given the cluster fuck happening with the goalkeeper at the same time. He missed a couple decent chances as well it must be said but at least he was on the end of them.

Hmm, not sure about that, their second came down the left hand side, as much as Reynolds was stupid giving away the pen, Considine left acres of space in behind by charging forward trying to get to a ball from McGinn that he was never going to win. He should have had the positional sense and intelligence to stay where he was. As much as the first goal was shambolic the second killed the game as a contest and we were horrendous from then on in. Considine has to take at least some of the blame for the poor defending all round for the second goal but ultimately, Reynolds gave away the pen.

You really don't like Man United. I'll give you another analogy. I said on another thread that there is no way that the Celtic starting eleven are four goals better than our starting eleven in terms of ability but they are in terms of bottle. Example - 2 goals down to Inter after 15 minutes, fought back to 3-2, goal in extra time to get a draw. (Of course the IRA loving bastards got what they deserved in the second leg when Inter won the tie with a late goal.) Compare that with what happened when we went two goals down on Sunday. All I'm saying is that we need to get some of that bottle. How many times have we gone to Hampden and bottled it and lost. We should have won the semi final. All United had going for them was that their superfan Lorraine Kelly was watching them.

P.S. For the record, I no longer follow English football in any shape or form. They are a bunch of overpaid wankers. I also hate both of the bigot brothers with a passion so I'm NOT praising Smeltic in any way I'm just making a point. We need to get some of that bottle.

Don't think the defeat had anything to do with Bottle. It was down to slack play, poor finishing and shite goalkeeping. We played some of the best football i've seen us play in years until that fuckwit decided to hit a daisycutter from Logans back pass, resulting in that corner.

I'd say we were naive in our approach at 1 down and tried to push men forwards and it left us exposed.
