Big fan of McLean (over his career) but nae quite sure why he is being played so often in holding midfield. He played so well coming on for Pawlett on Wednesday I just thought it was a no brainer for him to play far forward today.

 

Flood played ok - still not a fan though but appreciate he did well.

 

Credit to Smith for his goal because many players would have knocked that over the bar or straight at the keeper. Great play.

We got away with it today. Killie are absolutely woeful. Their own worst enemy at times. Feels like a win by default today.

Thought we played well. dominated the match for the vast majority. Despite how close they came to getting a point killie deserved nothing from that match.

 

Another 3 points and 2 back on celtic. We just have to keep going as long as it's possible. I think Dundee can take points off celtic in their next match.

Thought he had a decent game today actually.

 

Some on here need to stop being so negative and all doom and bloody gloom. McLean is obviously next player to split the support- personally think he's contributing loads to team and settling in well. Smith did ok and took goal well but some on here would have had him off before half time. Some need to calm down and learn to trust manager and coaches judgements

The fact that we paid a decent fee for him doesn't help his cause if truth be told. That adds to the pressure on him & expectation from the fans for a better return. Hard on him but that's how it goes.

In all honesty though (all that said) even if we'd gotten him for free i'd be expecting more from him given the game time he's been given. Yes he's being told to play a more controlled/less free role but he still needs to do a good bit more to impress imo. I do have high hopes for him but I do not believe he's found his role/form yet for us & I expect a whole lot better from him next season. Some are a lot more easily pleased than others though & some have higher expectations & that's just to be expected. Not to say either types are right or wrong.

 

As for the game.

 

Yes we still need a new keeper desperately but I'd still have Brown over Clangers as the back up to that new keeper.

 

Daniels (credit for setting up the goal) was fkn honking. Slow as fk & terrible for their goal. He moved away from the boy & allowed him even more room for a shot with his RIGHT foot ffs. Well taken goal & all that but should never have been given that chance.

 

Great three points but even for all our passing/possession we were fkn lucky to get away with that one. Credit to Killie for making us look very average.

 

Not much chat regarding a couple of (maybe a little soft) penalty claims for us. Both in second half & the second one was right before the foul on Magennis that led to our goal.

 

 

We need to do a lot better against Utd. They will have seen that we're far from great over the last few games (ICT aside) & will look to us to help get themselves back on tract after yesterdays win.

Hopefully that goal does Cammy Smith some good. Generally never noticed him during the game.

Would rather see McLean further forward but was impressed by him today. Played a lot of good balls.
