Sheeptastic
Looking to pick up a vinyl player but not overly expensive. Anyone on here got a bit of knowledge on sourcing a decent one for a reasonable price? Read some stuff online but a lot of it's over my head. Link to comment

Sorry to hijack the thread @@SheeptasticI would suggest picking up a copy of What HiFi? Sound and Vision magazine. In the back they give ratings of all the products they've tested arranged by budget. Have a look, get an idea what you can afford then if you are in Aberdeen head down to Holburn HiFi and talk to them. Also when buying your system take a selection of your own music with you so you can get an idea of what your own preferences sound like. Link to comment
dunc_afc
Oh and spend more money on the amp than the speakers and don't cheap out on the cables to connect them. Link to comment

Anything under 100 would be decent, might be willing to stretch a bit further if on good recommendation. Just looking for someone who has bit more of a clue to get me started with some ideas. I think for under £100 you will struggle for any real quality, remember for your money you are getting a turntable, amp and speaker. That's a lot for under a ton. Link to comment
dj_bollocks
Richer Sounds would be as good a place as any to start if you're not bothered about quality... http://www.richersounds.com/products/hi-fi-separates/separates/turntables Link to comment

Redforever86
Gumtree can have some cheap speakers, mind and tested them out so. For £100, I don't think you'll get anything great... Maybe worth saving up a bit more and waiting till something that is on sale. For £100 you'd be as well playing a cd, unless you are dying for the vinyl sound. Or want to DJ? Link to comment
