Chewie37
Evening Express showing that there's a traveller site planned for next door to the new AFC stadium? StevieT1986
Aberdeen Council trying their best to squeeze out the new stadium plans. Allowing over 1000 homes to be built and now plans for a travelling site. It just shows that turning down the plans for the training ground was only done in spite. Link to comment
DD1903
The travellers will be pushing for that site - a huge building site right on their door step to pillage?! then a huge stadium full of copper piping to strip in a weekly basis Link to comment

Fair play to the stadium maintenance team is what I say. Link to comment

Clydeside_Sheep
We do not need a new stadium. I agree, we should not be too hasty to rush away from our spiritual home. Plus, its not as if we are filling the place every week and crying out for more space. Link to comment

Pudgie
Parts of the roof have started falling on us during the game. Now if this is happening often in the two hours per fortnight we're there, it's safe to assume it's happening at other points in the week as well. It's past it's best and needs put out of it's misery. We won't be too much longer in moving and hopefully it's sooner rather than later. Imagine turning up to Pittodrie every day for work... Nae really the most inspiring place is it? Link to comment

Probably a bit less exciting serving pies for 10 minutes (all the time they are available in the SS) that much is granted. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Pittodrie and Cineworld have possibly the slowest food service known to man. Which is odd because both of them have the simplest of fucking jobs. Pittodrie - Pies are already made and they are sitting on a shelf. The drinks are either hot water into a cup or for cold drinks, a tap! And yet, the other week in the Merkland, the queue was almost the length of the merkland stand itself! And that wasn't even half time. Cineworld - Popcorn ffs. It's just shovelling popcorn into a paper bag, why does it take so fucking long to get through the queues?!?! A new stadium needs to address the food stalls issue, it's an embarrassment. Oh and better taps. The ones in the merkland are almost impossible to get water from because it pours the water right down the side, so you've no room to put your hands under the tap. Link to comment

But for someone that isn't a fan, it would be a depressing place to walk up to every day. Have you walked around lately when it's not a matchday? You'd be forgiven for thinking that it was a derelict building in parts. Link to comment
dj_bollocks
As much as it may be our spiritual home, Pittodrie's a bit of a shit hole now if I'm being honest… You wouldn't live in a house that was falling apart, in constant need of repair and was generally a bit shitty if you could have a shiny new build with all the trimmings and facilities... Time to let go of Pittodrie, like the new era the team are now displaying, time for a new stadium that befits a European playing and title chasing team of our status and heritage... Onwards and upwards ! Link to comment

RUL
As stadiums go it's shit. We need a new ground badly, similar to Hearts, not a bowl, close to the park with good views. Link to comment

Clydeside_Sheep
We could rebuild the stands one at a time. For most games we could likely shoe-horn our usual attendance into the other 3 stands. Yes a brand spanking new, purpose built stadium would ultimately be best, but you cant build history into a place. I dunno I am just not thrilled at playing our home games anywhere else than the pitch we beat bayern munich 3-2 on in 1983 (and a host of other hugely important, legendary games). Link to comment
RUL
Minds me of Trigger and Only Fools saying he's worked with the same Broom for 25 years or something, 20 different handles...it's not the same pitch, the stands are different..football's moved on, it's about making a new stadium and new memories. I think your idea would have worked if we had bought the land behind the South Stand but the club said this couldn't be done......dunno how those flats got permission. Link to comment

History is exactly that, and we need to be looking forwards, not backwards. Link to comment
