Smart Phone Advice

The IPhone 6+ took a fall yesterday, smashed it to fuck. I've had a IPhone since they first came out, think its maybe time for a change.

I'm looking around at the moment, could wait for the new IPhone 6S+ or whatever they're calling it to come out but I'm liking the look of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +

Anyone got the S6 Edge or S6 Edge+.

Any other recommendations?

Android is the way forward Spamx3.

I used to be an apple sheep until I discovered the cutting edge technololgy of Samsungs. I was merely a wolf caught in a bad dream.

How easy was the switch?

I'm getting old, da like too much change, kenfitamean

I will go with one of the Chinese manufacturers next, Lenovo or Huawei. same shit, fraction of the price.

You got one of these? I've still got just over a year until I can upgrade. DOnt want to be stuck with a lump of shit thats slow and drops calls for the sake of £150-200

Pretty much this with me had Iphones since they came out, they don't seem to last 2 years without fucking up. Got an S6 few months back and prefer it over the iphone .

No, however I know some one who has a Lenova tablet, and it wipes the floor with a twice the price Samsung tab.

Nokia, world domination, to fuck all.

I had the titanium while working in the shop.

Was a beautiful piece of equipment at the time.

Fit is the actual freedom that you get on an android? Users always bleat on about freedom, what's actually allowed that isn't allowed on the iphone?

Always wondered this myself. Any takers?

Freedom to transfer things in to the phone by a proper manner other than by iTunes I guess. I'm sure there are ways round that with an iPhone. I had one iPhone, it was a pain in the arse for about 75% of the time I owned it so went to Android. It doesn't seem that different to me, though I use my phone for a bit of spotify, whatsapp and candy crush, outside standard telephone and internet usage.

HTC One M8 in case you are wondering.

For what it's worth, I prefer the iphone interface.

ha ha! I had a very similar conversation in the pub at the weekend. Kept being told to ditch my iPhone as it's like being handcuffed to apple, no freedom etc. When I asked my mate what he used his android phone for it was - messages, calls, surfing the net and playing games. Some freedom!

Maybe something specially designed for clumsy oafs / the accident prone? ;) lol

To echo what EPK says, one of my mates has a Huawei and its an excellent device. I am usually pretty disinterested in gadgets etc, but I was impressed by this phone, especially the camera on it (he took some shots at night, when we were making our way between pubs and they came out extremely well, best camera I have ever seen on a phone).

I've had an almost identical experience! Despite loads of pals being adamant that I needed to switch from apple, none could provide any convincing, worthwhile reasoning.

I'll tell you what though... if someone could develop a smartphone with a decent battery life, I'd make the change tomorrow!

I got an android phone a couple of years ago for work,

Had to download that kies thing for it to transfer stuff. Didnt really see the difference between that and ITunes to be honest.

I always thought this freedom thing was more down to the availability and amount of apps along with the settings for your phone, ringtones in a that. Apple restrict your options somewhat when it comes to whos apps etc you can put on your phone and unless you've got a wee bit of gumption about you then you end up paying for everything.

The thing thats drawing me to the Samsung is the larger storage, what looks like a better screen and camera, the price compared to the same storage, size etc and it looks bonny now compared to the older S4 and S5 that just looked cheap and plastic. Looks like a better deal than the new IPhone will be.

Yes, discussing the merits of smartphones with friends is extremely

Seems like something MT would do.

It is fair enough when someone asks if your phone is any good as they are looking to get a new one.

Fanboys though (and the fact that heaps of sotr's pals do this to him suggests he is probably as guilty of it as they are) can get to fuck. Shite chat.

zactamundo, Harcy.

I took all of three seconds deciding my first and so far only iphone two months ago. I went with iPhone cause it's the norm.

I've own a nexus which is good but my iPods were smarter, cleaner.

Bluto: what iPhones you got?

Shop monkey: the 6 and 6+

Bluto: what's the difference?

SM: the + has a bigger screen.

Bluto: right, I'll take it.

It's a gadget and in a months time will be out of date and in two years time it'll be in the bin.

Folk that care about this rubbish need to get out and buy a life
