fine-n-dandy
This has now become a must win game. Even if we can afford a loss & still stay top of the league.Losing this game (especially at home) & making it three in a row could be very damaging to the confidence, where as on the other hand a good win against a very on form & confident St Johnstone could be a huge lift. Byrne Baby Byrne
Have to win! The young loon that came in for St Johnstone when Mannus went off apparently had a good game. The script is written for him to have a word class display next weekend Link to comment

Reed or deed
So aren't you just experimenting with a line up or formation? (and in case you haven't noticed Reynolds isn't actually fit yet)That in my opinion is our 11 best players and our strongest starting line up.I thought that Reynolds would be fit by next Saturday but I'll happily be corrected on that one.If he ain't then Considine would get my nod. I think you are missing the point , playing Josh fucking Parker up front when he isn't even a striker , playing Peter Pawlett as a wing back at Hibs and leaving 2 of the best strikers in the league in the bench against Caley ( which proved to be a bad decision) are at the very best "experiments" imo. At worst , it is fucking stupidity . My line up is not an experiment, it is based on previous performances and players ratings. Link to comment

Im not missing the point at all you said "No more experimenting with shitey line ups or formations please" and then proceed to give us one! We started yesterday with what common agreement is the best 10 out of 11 we have, yet you want to change it for an untried shitey line up that goes against common sense. You base on previous performances - so when has goodwillie and rooney ever worked as a pair? It doesn't Rooney plays 6 yards out facing goal, Goodwillie 14 yards out facing away, Rooney likes to snapshoot, goodwillie likes to set himself first. Nothing I have seen suggests to nme they can play as an effective pair From a proven modern formation you want to go to an oldschool 4 4 2 that will be overrun. Teams are playing a deep midfield 5 against us. Nothing we have seen suggests a 4 4 2 will work. We didn't go 2 goals down because Parker was selected yesterday it was down to the defense and midfield not getting a grip of the Caley midfield set out to overwhelm us - and you want to reduce it to a 4 from the 5 No point in complaining about experimental line ups when 10 out of 11 have served us all season and then given us an even more outlandish experimental one of your own. Word was that Reynolds is due back in October so you're right to include him in 'your' team. Some real pedantic lads on here!!Leaving out GW and/or Rooney was a strange move but remember McInnes tried a few different line ups last year too and some came off and some didn't.Whole team were rotten first 25 mins or so and should have been at least 3 down but we recovered and think we did enough to deserve a draw. GW's miss at the end was what we were getting from him last season. Link to comment

CalgaryDon
Finally some much needed recovery time - feel we will actually bounce back now. No excuses for this past week - just disappointed that that recovery time between matches seems to have impacted the results. Indicates a lack of depth - we are one or two players off being a squad that can mix things up and rotate when required. St J's are a good outfit however our players will be looking to make amends for this week and put things right. Hopefully we get a decent crowd - wish we'd played a home game first after the Hearts display - this week may have a negative affect on the final attendance for this match. 3-1 Aberdeen (Jack, Hayes and Rooney) COYR! Tord31
Injured: FloodDoubtful: Reynolds and McGinn Back to basics which is obviously 4-2-3-1. Big game to get back on track especially with the fortnight international break following the game. The decisions to be made are Rooney or Goodwillie, and Shinnie left back or centre mid. Reynolds close to a return but probably only the bench if anything. Outside shout of Smith or Robson getting a rare start Ward Logan Taylor Quinn Considine Jack Shinnie McGinn McLean Hayes Rooney subs: Brown, Pawlett, Reynolds, Robson, Parker, Goodwillie, McLaughlinothers: Smith, Wright, Storie and Nuttal Link to comment
