SkyeDon
Thought we were comfortable enough, although would have liked more goals and we should have got them really. Not really a weakness throughout the side and I thought McLean was outstanding. Again, there were some really strange calls from the ref but that's to be expected I suppose. Good win, Dons! Sonoftherock
Didn't see the game, but the media are reporting another impressive performance from Brown... Is the ba' burst or does he have chance at resurrecting his career with us? Link to comment
a don in oz
How did Storie do? For a kid that's just slid into the team due to injuries he's not looking out of place at all. I think in both games he's run out of steam a bit towards the end, becoming less involved, but he reads the game well and seems to be sensible about when to go with the safe pass or try something more. (which is more than can be said for Hayes at times) Link to comment
Poodler
Saw about 7 minutes of the game in the vic, between dogs, powder, whisky and questionable characters. We deserved to win though. @Bluto hurry hame for a carry on. Link to comment

tup
McLean was the best player on the pitch, effortlessly gets through the game. Brown looked OK but as usual dodgy on corners. I suspect Celtic could take advantage of that. Link to comment

minijc
Didn't see the game, but the media are reporting another impressive performance from Brown... Is the ba' burst or does he have chance at resurrecting his career with us?He was always going to be back up when Ward was here, he was fine with this (from what I was told) he understood the situation and knew he'd get a chance at some point, the only people that thought his career here was over were the Langfield fan boyz and the mongs that were almost in tears on here. muttonhumper
Even when he hasn't?In for a game, does a job, dropped to bench, on with 10 to go.Others have been selected no matter how bad they have been.Has he had a run of 6 games to see what he can do?Best thing for him is to resurrect his career elsewhere. Wise words. Goodwillie off. Brought nothing to the team Worst player on the pitch by some considerable distance. I feel embarrassed for the poor cunt every time the ball goes anywhere near him. Is the ba' burst or does he have chance at resurrecting his career with us?He was OK and nothing more. Looked dodgy at crosses and had to be bailed out on more than one occasion. He did get his body in the way of the ball to deny hem a few times though. We still need a better keeper. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
I'm loving that in pointing out the cross field pass from Maclean to Logan that Taylor contributes more to that move than McGinn does. Nobody doubts that Maclean can play that deep role especially if he has a harder tackling leg man like Storie beside him but it just shows up the lack of threat we have in that right side striking role all the more, whether it's McGinn, Goodwillie or whoever. ben_1903
Seems there are a lot of people on here / at the match who are blind and / or just dislike Goodwillie. He had a perfectly fine game, especially for someone who hasn't had a run in the team and who is lacking confidence at the moment. His hold up play was fine, and he had a number of good passes / through balls / flicks which his team mates failed to capitalise on (Rooney several times. McGinn offside etc). He actually had a better game than Rooney. Ok, he fluffed a couple of shots,He also had an excellent shot at the Merkland end. He was let down by crap crosses on several occasions. He was desperate to score, kept running and didn't have the poor attitude he has been guilty of in the past. McInnes was clearly pleased with him, he gave him a round of applause and encouragement when he was subbed. Wise up. 1 Link to comment
mutant
Seems there are a lot of people on here / at the match who are blind and / or just dislike Goodwillie Wise up. Bold statement . Goodwillie could play all day and not score , his shots are never on target even in the warm up they are all into the RDS . He missed a fairly easy header , his shot was embarrassing and got caught with the ball at his feet 3/4 times in the box , got beaten for pace on a number of occasions aswell . His flicks - I know the one you are referring to which came off but 9 times out of 10 these attempted flicks never work . He is nowhere near the player he should have become and dosnt have a future with us . Link to comment

Quagmire
I also thought it was an enjoyable game. Probably nae great for the neutrals but we bossed the game and should have had more goals. We get off with it in a game like this and we should have buried more against County. Hopefully we are able to be a bit more lethal with the opportunities against the Tims as I don't think we'll get as many. Brown did well, done what was needed and was fast off his line after a mistake by Considine when the boy was clean through. Storie seems to have a big more dig about him than Jack, be interesting if McInnes has enough believe in him to start him against Celtic. Rooney was worse than Goodwille in everything apart from the goal. But thats what he's there to do. You can see Goodwille has the ability with his runs and some touches but its just not happening so its probably worth taking in someone new if we're going to continue 4-4-2. Link to comment
tup
I thought Goodwillie did OK. He never had a shocker as some are saying. Bear in mind he hardly starts. It goes without saying he would benefit from a run in the team. 1 Link to comment
Pudgie
Goodie good. Especially considering he hasn't started much in the past few years. Always seems to come in and be unspectacular but solid enough. Defence doing ok considering they've been thrown together with a new keeper with no notice. And I assume they're not too sure whether Collin or Brown will be the long term partner. Attack ok again. Some good crosses and Goodwillie was unlucky when he ran to the back post and the cross came to the front. That's a tap in if he was playing more than once a month. Kenny McLean was fantastic out of position again. Much harder workload but him and Storie did very well. Must be hard for the pro to try and help a young player through the game when playing out of position. All in all, 3 points, bring on the vicTims. 1 Link to comment

The Oxford Don
Goodwillie was solid, a 6/10 performance. The criticism and praise are both largely unjustified. He was fine, but no more than fine. 1 Link to comment

Fucking hell pudgie. You're better than that. Its hardly as if Brown is an unknown quantity to the Defence. He's been around the place for 20 months now.Barring a return to normal service in a big game, Brown will keep the gloves for the rest of the season. rossafc92
Thought it was quite an entertaining watch, particularly first half with quite a few clear cut chances for both sides. On Goodwillie: again it just looked like nothing was falling for him. Nothing seems to go his way. Mind you, I think I've said that about Goodwillie every time he's played for us. I don't think the problem with him is that he doesn't try hard or doesn't care, I just don't think he fits with the other players in the team or the system we play. As good as Shinnie was, I thought Storie was deserving of MOTM, especially considering the circumstances in which he's come into the team (filling in for a couple of experiences players, only his first couple of starts in past few years). He hasn't looked out of place at all. All in all, a solid performance. Just wish we scored more of the numerous chances we create to ease the nerves in games! Link to comment
