Minutes Applause At St. Johnstone Game

Recommended Posts

Don't know if any of you have seen it on Facebook, we are wanting to organise a minutes applause on the 41st minute of this weekend's game. It's for our friend and workmate Scott Ross who sadly passed away 2 week's ago. Scott had been going to game's home and away for as long as i have known him and the don's were a massive part of his life.

It would be hugely appreciated if you could join in the applause and also pass on the message of this to fellow dandies

May I ask how he passed away?

He stood a few rows behind us in the south.

He's somebody's son, and an Aberdeen supporter, and I'm sorry to hear of his passing. But he was, for want of a better word, an idiot, who had zero clue about anything to do with football. He may have been okay away from Pittodrie, I've no idea, but for two hours on a Saturday afternoon he was torture, who shouted the most random, inane shite imaginable.

Fill yer boots we the applause though

Maybe he was an idiot who hadnt a clue about football, but perhaps we might have overlooked that on this occasion? That's all I mean.

He knew him (at least to see & hear) you didn't.

He has as much right to comment as any of the others that knew him in the same way in this thread, just because he's giving an opinion that maybe some don't like doesn't matter.

He has more right to say something than any that didn't know the guy in any way yet jump on the band wagon anyway.

Guy could have been a good cunt or a bad cunt. Shame he's died regardless but dying shouldn't mean everyone has to sook up.

Damn sure when I die I will get called all sorts of naughty names on here & rightly so.

It's not as bad as it seems to be honest. :sherlock:

On topic. @@RAZOR @@ebbe @@reekie_dock I found out that he had died a couple of weeks ago when I met Dave (Craig Brewster lookalike) at Heathrow. Couldn't place who he was when Dave described him but saw his photo on Facebook and know who he is now.

So is this going to happen every time an Aberdeen fan bites the dust?

It's Cammy Smith all over again.

Was he also a Man Utd fan?

I expect rapturous applause when I die then.

He was an Aberdeen fan. That's pretty fucking obvious.

The Cammy Smith thing was a joke as was the murdered boy from Cults. This however seems like a genuinely nice touch. Not sure why folk get so bent out of shape for something that's obviously just meant as a nice sentiment.

This is turning into a farce. Like KSL says, we gonna do it for every fan? Not for me, and I certainly wont be partaking.

Maybe best not to comment about it then. Makes you look a little crass.

Cammy Smith I can understand the venting of disappointment in it as it was a complete joke from the outset. This one just seems like a nice touch.

Not the end of the world let's face it and at least there will be at least one minute of applause during the game.

Here's for a right old doing of St Johnstone rather than concentrating on a small tribute to a fan.

I'd say buying a drink for someone was more of a tribute. The gadgie was never away from the bar buying me drinks. Never took one in return either. Absolute toff of a guy who, as @@ollie1903 hadn't a clue about fitba, but definitely a big fan. Out of the 3, he's certainly the more worthy of a tribute but I still think it's getting excessive. 95% of the people clapping won't have a clue who it's for or even that someone had passed. I just don't get why you'd want other people to "grieve" for someone they didn't know. Norman Goldie, a fan of that ilk or someone that was connected with the club yes, but for someone that very few people knew, I just don't understand it.
