Redstar
Crass. The mans dead FFS!He might be gone but his memory will live on...in a way this is better than a few thousand punters applauding some bloke they never knew...this way, as long as the Hat is still online, his nearest and dearest can log on and see what random insults you have thrown at him anytime they like...they can even answer for him (from the afterlife...sort of) if they choose...its brilliant. fine-n-dandy
Would be nice if we had a minutes applause tonight at some point to mark the end of having a minutes applause for all sorts of things. When did the minutes applause for the end of having a minutes silence happen? I think we should all neck some eccies & have 90 minutes of silent disco/rave at games Link to comment
Guest the shepherd
Maybe the thread should just get deleted.FFS a Don's fan has died and whether or not he was a good guy or not is irrelevant, his mates and familydon't need to see folk who didn't know him bickering about his mates wanting to respect him on Saturday.Well said, Tommy. The saying with the words 'time and place' spreads to mind in respect of the bickering that has descended in here. It is not nice having your person defamed in public whether it be on an internet forum or newspaper, dead or alive. Link to comment
Dandyesque
Right I've stayed away from this topic purposely but it's now moved into a new arena so have changed my mind Firstly- although I can understand why- in the current way of doing things- some of the poor guy that's died friends would want some sort of recognition for their pal, this is not something that could be called a tradition And is it a tradition we want to start? I would say no- where does the cut-off come? Does the club have to draw an arbitrary line in the sand as to how many games have been attended before you qualify for a minutes applause? For me, it's inappropriate that the club get involved- I would make an exception for the likes of Norman (long may he continue to attend) but that's it. One last point Having seen the Cammy Smith thread and some frankly unbelievable commments- I can't believe the stick Ollie is getting- it is a public forum and there's been a hell of a lot worse said Having said which, if you can't say something nice, say nothing - I'm sure Ollie will be thinking to his gran's advice around now Best let it lie i think Link to comment
