In the event that two or more teams finish level on points within a group, the tie-breakers are as follows:

Head-to-head points between the teams in question.

Head-to-head goal difference between the teams in question.

Head-to-head goals scored between the teams in question.

Goal difference in all group games.

Goals scored in all group games.

If two teams are still level and play each other in the final group game, they will have a penalty shootout.

Fair play record (three points for a red, one for a yellow).

Drawing of lots.

ah ok, i read that yesterday and didn't understand it. But now I look at the completed groups I've got it. Still think it's a bit over complicated though. Couldn't they just have stuck Scotland in to the knock out stage?

It's a similar set up to the UEFA Cup when we came out of the groups by finishing third. Horrendous set up and was kicked into touch as it was realised by UEFA that it sucked.

 

4 groups of 6 with top two into quarters would have been better.

Let's be honest for once mini, if Scotland got there you would support them. I know you won't admit it but I reckon you would.

I wouldn't, no, like last year my pals asked if I would like to go over if Scotland got through and make a few weeks of it, I said no way and that I'd only go if Scotland failed to get there, I despise them as a nation now, the players and people involved have set them back years after some great work from Smith and Mcleish, I actually really like this current English side but the manager is the downfall, you'll think I'm fishing but that's ok as I know that I'm not.

. im not arguing against our downfalls, we are a huge shambles right now. I'm taking from this that if things improved back to the likes of smith and Mcliesh you would support them again?

 

I only ask because you are very vocal in your hatred of Scotland. I can understand some being disillusioned with things and even giving up on following them but to despise them and actively want them to lose is bizarre even if your support for them was small before.

I doubt we will ever know because scotland are so shite but I have a feeling you wouldn't be able to help yourself if we got to a tournament. This isn't a criticism, we fitba fans are a fickle bunch. We've all uttered the words "I'm not going back" when our teams are playing shit.

It's not so much the shit it's the players getting a gig and the ones getting left out, I can no longer go and 'support' the likes of Scott Brown, far too much hate for him and most of the others involved, I must say though at the weekend in Hungary every cunt and I meant every last one of them were buzzing for the game against Iceland, mental when they got it to 1-1 and after the game streets were shut off as locals went on a huge march and sing song, you just wouldn't get that here, yes there would be huge interest but places wouldn't be shutting down for the games and that.
