Top Scorers

Recommended Posts

Started digging into how many goals Adam Rooney has for the club now (primarily to see how far he is off the infamous Darren Mackie)

Does anyone have an accurate figure of all top scorers for the club?

Keen to see what Rooney has to do to "climb the charts" the only thing I could find on the club website was the article on he and McGinn reaching 50 goals each.

I suspect he'll eclipse Mackie with another 10 or so?

Rooney tends to score only one per game and consequently usually a vital goal.

Other prolific goalscorers like Harper, McDougall and Shearer would often get two or a hat trick against lesser opposition. From memory Joe Harper scored 10 goals in the four times he played against Cowdenbeath.

I think this illustrates what an important player Rooney is for us. It would be nice if he got the occasional hat trick though.

Rooney misses the odd sitter (last night) but he's a very consistent one goal a game striker.

Just to clarify what I meant was Rooney doesn't tend to score more than once in a game. If he averaged a goal a game any team in the world would want to have him.

I'm fairly sure he hasn't got a hat trick for us yet and doubles are extremely rare.

He scored a hat-trick against Livingstone in the cup:

and against Daugava Riga

I'm not sure if he's scored one in the league though?
