daytripping
I got puled into a meeting at my last job and was told I'd been off sick 9 months out of the last 15 years, shit happens was my excuse, you can't help being ill, if it's on a Monday that's tough luck, you can't help when illness strikes. They omitted 6 of those months were for operations that i'm over now, 2 for a broken jaw saving a young guys life. I was made redundant. It's shit, I was young then, I don't even go out Saturday nights now but they brought history into it, I'm still fuming, my boss ran a rugby social club on the side and spent more time at work ordering beer and crisps than he he ever did working, he had no idea what was happening at work, my yank boss took his side. You can not help being sick, but ironically enough, its always the same folk who seem to be ill more often that others. Link to comment

I'm redundant, past arguing but my boss was off near 8 months in one go, broke loads of bones in a motorbike accident, I ran the show when he was off, his was deemed a non illness related matter yet my jaw was as in their mind as I was in the "wrong crowd", lol Fucking masons. For the record when I was working at Shell I did 9 years with no days off, my boss spoke of it in my farewell speech, I only call sickness when I'm a step away from heaven. Link to comment
Pash
We get 20 sick days a rolling year, there is one guy in the workshop who is always in contact with HR making sure how many sick days he is on, if he is on 15 he will take a week off, back up to 20, waits till the next time in goes down to 15 then off for a week. He is playing the game and fair play to him but you would think it will come back to bite him on the arse, can't believe he has never been pulled up for it, he has worked there for 8 years or so, I caught on straight away after sitting close to HR for a few months, nae hard to realise what he is up to. RAZOR
I had food poisoning this time last year and was genuinely dying. Ended up on a drip. Only time I've ever phoned in sick for actually being sick. The rest were all Torrys Link to comment
