minijc
Hit the north is superb, if that was my tune I'd be opening every gig with it. Link to comment
Chewie37
Saw them at the Lemon Tree, they only ever performed their current tunes, so didn’t hear any of their older quality stuff. Wasn’t too bad if I recall, got pretty wasted though Link to comment
Guest milne_afc
Hit the north is superb, if that was my tune I'd be opening every gig with it.Frank Sidebottom does a better version, even MES agreed.https://youtu.be/d0elCZT8yN0 To be fair though, I prefer the Fall's version of R Dean Taylor's TAGIMY to the original. Swings and roundabouts. Link to comment

seann coirthe
Sunday, 18 June 2000 Glow 303, AberdeenAccording to Paul, the promoter, the Fall's set lasted all of 12 minutes. "It was shocking, Smith turned up 10 mins after the band went onstage and fell on his arse twice. Muttered some random crap and went offstage, they were shite." Went to this with my now wife , she was / is a big Fall fan. I think she enjoyed it more than if they had played a full set . Link to comment

Old manny
Just had my first Captain Beefheart experience tonight with Trout Mask Replica.... It was a challenge...Like all good art it is meant to be challenging, but I am glad you gave it a go, much better than the Fall's pale imitation. Here is one of his earlier efforts. Great video and a fine opening guitar solo from Ry Cooder. Enjoy : Link to comment

Old manny
Fall are pish, 6 musics gan owerboard oan it like. eh like meh certain ratio, human league (seconds) n beefhert mare This is Ice Cream for Crow AK from the 1982 album of the same name. The video has pride of place in The New York Museum for modern art and incorporates themes such as capitalism, alienation, greed and a wee back handed slap at Frank Zappa who by this time had complete control over Beefheart's (Don Van Vliet) material. Lord knows how good the album might have been if Zappa had not vetoed half of the original material. : Link to comment
