Clydeside_Sheep
....as the driver and as the passenger, and what were the circumstances? As driver: 100 mph (on the german autobahns, when it was quiet) As passenger: 120 mph (being driven by my then boss, on the A74 on the way to a work meeting) I am quite a sedate driver these days, happy to potter along at 60-odd, certainly the 120 mph produced by my boss that day (~17 yrs ago) was absolute madness and asking to be killed. Edit - some c*nt roared by me on the M80 recently, doing about 90mph with one of those "space saver" wheels on, which are not safe above 50 mph. They also undertook a bunch of people. 2nd Edit - I meant on roads, but by all means share any race track experiences. Link to comment

The Boofon
763.035 MPH. Little known fact but I worked as a parachute deployment engineer in the late ‘90’s. My pal Andy was driving. Good crack. Link to comment
The Boofon
165mph - driving to Lossiemouth. Was driving the birds car, which was like a sofa at times, didn't realise how fast you were going. Audi SQ5. Was fucking rapid, gutted when she got rid of it. Mine is more believable. 4 Link to comment
HairyPie
I was in the 9 minute club. Did it in an XR3i - in reverse like. Link to comment
ebbe
Fastest I’ve done is probably low 90’s on my way to Easter Road. A taxi driver in Tenerife probably ran that close. Link to comment
The Boofon
Speed cameras ruined that. Did Cullen to Keith in 8 minutes in a Mk 3 Golf Gti. Keith stayed in Deskford. Link to comment
mcdougall(4)
As a passenger, I honestly could not tell you except to say it was both the fastest I have gone in a car and the most scared I have been in any situation in my life.It was on a track. Link to comment

Ke1t
I had a Crossfire back in the day... that was quite nippy. They had limiters installed though, so you couldn't go above a certain speed. I think I had it at about 130 or so on I696, for about 10 seconds, but it wasn't the thrilling experience I had expected. To be honest it was a piece of shit. It looked the part, but aside from... "It can go quite fast"... it served virtually no purpose whatsoever. Sold it about 6 months later and got a used 98 Jeep Cherokee, which is without a shadow of a doubt the finest vehicle to ever come off a production line. Top speed of about 110mph, but probably never drove it over 90mph. Once rented a bright orange, convertible Mustang... they go quite fast inna. Driving it through Florida was like playing Outrun. Ke1t
Remapped rather than chipped I just asked the question. If it means same thing, not a clue. It doesn't impress me does old car chat. I know fuck all about and never will claim to because I think most car chat is fucking honking and I'll avoid a person if they discuss it with me. Hate 2 people at work because they talk cars. Fuck that shit. Show us on the doll where the car touched you, Berto, min... To a large extent agree with that... I know next to fuck all about cars. Link to comment

shut up meg
Motorcycle copper in a wee white helmet? No, loads of cops pulling over all the foreign cars at the motorway toll booth. They didn't even bother chasing us, just waited and fined us. Link to comment

On a trip to Mont Saint Michel from Paris we were driving foot down all the way, just because it was like a 10 hour round trip... motorcycle coppers were waiting in twos and threes by the side of the road and chasing folk down as they sped past. Was the same on the way back. Prefer not to drive in or around Paris though... absolutely mental traffic. Link to comment
