Why was Callum McGregor not sent off? - He had 4 fouls after his booking, including the goal-scoring opportunity before the penalty

Recommended Posts

The foul on McLennan for the penalty alone should have been a second booking, let alone the other 3 fouls before that in the 27th, 80th and 84th minutes which were all after his booking. Lewis Ferguson could have easily missed the penalty. I was then expecting McGregor to score in the last minute of the game to top it off. I would have then smashed the TV screen because of Collum.

Willie Collum is pathetic. He is one of the worst, if not the worst referee I have ever seen. Plus it was a foul on Cosgrove before the 2nd Celtic goal and how he didn't see the ball coming off a Celtic player's head for a corner at one point in the 2nd half is beyond me.

If they don't, referees should keep a note in their book for each foul so that persistent fouling is remembered, but Collum should still have remembered all of McGregor's fouls. 2 of the 3 first fouls after the booking were within 4 minutes of each other and then the penalty foul was 7 minutes after that, so you don't need a good memory to remember that! Retire now for the sake of Scottish football!

Because the game is loaded in favour of the establishment clubs. Collum is a symptom of a much bigger problem.

I think it is symptomatic of referees in general, thinking they are being smart and applying their discretion i.e. because it is the last minute of the game they think its not necessary to send him off.  But it is necessary due to fact that he should be missing Celtics next league game.

The same discretion that leads to refs keeping their cards in their pockets longer for Old Firm game.

This is worldwide problem. We've had an ex EPL referee saying he wouldnt have awarded a penalty for a handball incident because he disagrees with the rules. I mean WTF.

These cunts call it discretion, but I call it inconsistentcy which leads to unfairness.

FIFA, UEFA, the SFA and all other footballing authorities need to go through the rulebook and remove the phrase "referee's discretion" wherever it appears.

McGregor should have walked at pen. Not sure if second yellow or straight red dependent on his liklihood of getting the ball with the tackle

I've seen it again now. It's a straight red card. The ball has just gone too far away from both players when the contact is made.

He should have been sent off before the pen but should have walked at the pen for certain. Collum would have Been worried about adding. red card to the 2 pens he had given us it is just the way Scottish football is. The foul on Cosgrove before there 2nd goal is the bigger crime though

Starting threads specifically whinging about Celtic players not getting a second booking is the kind of shite you see on Follow Follow or Rangers Media.

I wouldn't know. You a regular over there or something?

Was asking the same question throughout the second half. McGregor could have walked after 2 or 3 of his multiple fouls. Tim cunt.

The worst one was the 2 incidents in 10 seconds, Ntcham wiped out Hedges then Duffy sent Edmondson into the wall on the track.

Ntcham was a booking all day long and Duffy should have walked for his assault.

Free kick for the first foul and not even a talking to for the tink players.

From what I recall, I thought the Hedges incident was a foul, possibly a booking but nothing that bad. He was just too late trying to make the block.

I also thought there was not much in the Duffy / Edmundson incident, yes he nudged him and caused him to go off balance but I don’t think he intended to put Edmundson into the advertising hoardings. A yellow maybe, but not a red.

Should've been a yellow. I think it's more the lack of talking to from Colum, could have seriously hurt him. I've no doubt if Taylor planted Ajeti head first into the advertising boards there'd be a petition to have him extradited from the country before the game was finished.

Taylor would probably miss his man & hit the boards himself.
