King Street Loon
Thought it might be good to have a thread for player scores and for posters to put thoughts down on player performances for the games. If any interest we can do an average score per game to total up end of season to see who ranks the best. First up. ABERDEEN V BK HAKEN Lewis - Solid enough and rarely troubled. Kicking still a bit suspect and could do nothing about the goal. 6 McCrorie - solid performance at CH and kept the Haken attackers at bay. 7 Considine - looked like it was going to be one of those nights for Consi with an early yellow, bit he pops up again with a great back post header and defended solidly throughout. 7.5 Brown - Really good and a great captains performance. One sloppy pass early one, but that didn't bother him one bit. What we've been missing in the middle of the park and allows others to create. 7.5 Ramirez - Some nice touches and good link up play. Can see the start of a partnership with ET. Took his goal well by being right place at the right time like all good strikers should. Solid start to Aberdeen career. 7.5 Hedges - Always looking to create and linked up well. Showed what we'd been missing the second half of last season. 7 Emmanuel Thomas - A great debut, linked well with Ramirez, won everything in the air and has tidy control for a big guy. Tired near the end, but promises more. Only criticism would be that he tried to be too fancy sometimes. Otherwise great. 8 Ojo - Who is this Ojo imposter? Played further up the field than we're used to and once he got going he really impressed. Should have scored. 7 Hayes - Had an awful first quarter, but eventually got going. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. 6 Ferguson - An outstanding performance capped with 2 goals and could've been 3 but for the post. Having Brown in there allowed him to concentrate on what he does best. Will have added a couple more million to his price tag after that and will gave impressed any watching scouts. MOTM 9 Ramsey - Outstanding performance from the young loon. Fearless going forward, good overlap play, good set piece delivery and an assist. Brilliant. 8.5 Subs Mackenzie - Solid enough when he came on. 6 McLennen - Started as he finished last season, but then surprised everyone by scoring a cracker. 7 Jenks - Barely had time to touch the ball or do anything. - Gurr - Looked lively and looks willing to get up and down the right side. Good delivery from a corner. Could be a good signing. 6 Manager Glass - Got everything spot on tactically and with the selection. If this is how he wants us to play, then I'm in. 8 Link to comment

Aye Glass got everything spot on last night. And not just the tactics for the match, the much doubted pre-season schedule obviously has been better than most of us thought. 10/10 for him last night. 1 Link to comment
muttonhumper
Was slightly pished while watching (mind-cut slack was 9.45pm KO here), but will try. ABERDEEN V BK HAKEN Lewis - 6 - Could have done better at their goal? Please correct me if waffling shit. McCrorie - 6 - Could have done better at their goal? Please correct me if waffling shit. Considine - 7 - Could have done better at their goal? Please correct me if waffling shit. 2 points extra, 1 for the goal, and another for the enthusiasm shown in the celebration. Brown - 7 - V good Ramirez - 7 - delightful touches and right place right time Hedges - 7 - Decent Emmanuel Thomas - 7 - Impressive Ojo - 1 - Pish Hayes - 4 - Poor Ferguson - 8 -Goals n shit Ramsey - 7 - Ace Subs Mackenzie - 6 - Magic blooter across the 6 yard for Ramirez goal. McLennen - 6- For goal alone Jenks - Fa? Gurr - Don't recall TBH Manager Glass - 8.3 - 5-1 win against potentially tough opponents attacking flair deployed. Happy. Link to comment

aberdeen1970
Ojo played better than normal in a new position. Enthusiasm and effort was encouraging. Made a fair few errors though in possession that could have been punished by better opposition. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Lewis - 6. Didn't have a lot to do. Still looks nervous when dealing with pass backs. Ramsay - 7. Impressive again. Shades of a young Glass himself when he heads for the byline and gets crosses in. Corners were dangerous too. McCrorie - 6. Good on the ground when we had the ball, in fact strolled that part of the job. Still question marks over tracking runners and defensive headers. Considine - 7. Great goal at exactly the time when we needed it to settle nerves. Hayes - 5. Nae his best night. Nuff said. Brown - 7. Strolled it in that position sitting in front/between the centre backs. Ojo - 6. Provided good energy in an unfamiliar position. Makes some basic errors in possession though. Ferguson - 8. Good to see him back to his usual level of commitment. Superb finish for his second. JET - 8. Drove us on during the first half and lifted the whole team. Tired towards the end. Promising debut though. Hedges - 7. Good to have him back. Going to be a key player for us if we want to achieve anything this season. Ramirez - 7. Quiet for spells but linked play well and took up some intelligent positions. Good to see him get off the mark. More to come. Link to comment

If he's got that in his game as a crack set piece taker we have some talent on our hands Link to comment

Would agree that Lewis, McCrorie and Considine could probably all have done a bit better at the goal. McCrorie missing the interception, Considine letting the boy cut inside, and Lewis offering him a lot of the goal to aim for. Harsh on Ojo, he played ok. Combined some great runs in behind with some basic errors. Could be hope there’s a player in there somewhere. 1 Link to comment

Ten Caat
Lewis..........6 - Did what little he had to do competently. Don't afford any blame towards him for their goal. Ramsay.......8.5 - Excellent first half, less noticeable second half until withdrawn but still very good Hayes..........4 - Best summed up as "not his night". Put in plenty effort but virtually nothing came off for him Considine....7 - Opening goal changed the game for us. Culpable for their goal costing him a point McCrorie......7 - Decent performance but caught out of position and failed to intercept in the lead up to their goal costing him half a point Brown..........7.5 - Captain's performance after one one shocking misplaced pass very early on that led to a Hacken atttack. Ferguson......9 - Man of the match. Added another £500k-£1m to our asking price Ojo................7 - Couple of misplaced passes early doors, utter comedy when presented with 2 chances in 2 seconds but overall a decent performance Hedges.........7 - Still not sure how he failed to score from 2 yards out in the first half. Good contribution otherwise JET................8 -. Some sublime control/touches, excellent passing creating chances for others. Won virtually all his aerial contests. Faded noticeably after 70 minutes Ramirez........8 - Quiet first 30 mins or so, came on to a very good performance, linked play well and hopefully debut goal will give him confidence. Subs MacKenzie...6.5 - Steady enough when brought on and great assist for our 4th goal McLennan....6.5 - Almost as bad as Hayes up until the goal. But what a goal and gets his points for it's significance. A 4 goal lead is surely unassailable? Jenks.............4 - How many seconds did he get on the park? Still every bit as effective as Hayes Manager Glass.............8.5 - Didn't put a foot wrong with his selection and formation. Couldn't have dreamt of a better start to the season Link to comment
Sheepo
Lewis - 7. Nothing much to do and made no mistakes Ramsay- 8 superb performance from the Youngster looks the real deal Hayes- 6 Gave ball away far too much and his touch was very poor at tomes Considine - 8 Solid throughout and got the all important break through McCrorie- 7 had a decent game, but thought he could have done better at the goal Brown - 8 slack pass in the first couple of minutes but apart from that never put a foot wrong. A true leader Ferguson - 9 Excellent game took his goals well and could have had another but for the post, benefitting from Browns presence Ojo - 8 Clearly much better in this role than a deep lying midfielder that Mcinnes thought he was Hedges - 7 Played well in patches and showed some quality. Much more to come JET - 9 Superb game, touch and power was a joy to watch, Swedes just couldn't handle him and for 25 minutes in the first half he was unplayable Ramirez - 8 very good debut great touch made some good runs and got his goal Link to comment

thurso
Lewis 6 had nothing to do all night but his kicking was better than normal so that’s good. ramsay 8 what a young player. 10 more games he’s in the Scotland squad. mcrorie 7 apart from the goal very solid and composed in defence. conidine 7.5 same as mcrorie but scored so gets a half mark more hayes 6.5 was ok defensively short passing shit when he got forward crosses dangerous. Brown 7. Started of ropey with passing like the rest of the team but it’s off the ball he was most vital Ferguson 9 anyone why thinks they can get him for 2 million need their heads read. 2 goals and excellent all over the pitch man of the match. ojo 6 ran about a lot. played attack minded but didn’t know what to do when got into that potions should of scored. hedges 7 was quite but effective some of the passing between him jet and Ramirez was like last season with him wright and Watkins jet 7.5 was excellent first half but seemed to die out of it in second but was still good. ramirez 8 was excellent. Some great take downs and flicks when he didn’t win it the defenders didn’t get I clear chance and we got second balls. If he gets better with games I can’t wait Link to comment

Some of the commentary on their goal fails to acknowledge just how well their forward took a half chance. If that was a dons goal we would all be rightly wanking over it. Link to comment

Betty Swallicks
Lewis 6. Solid enough, no blame for goal. Ramsay 8. Very good, dodgy first couple of coreners then delivered a few crackers. Hayes 5. Nae great, good tackle when Brown made early mistake. Considine 6. Early booking and ace he got the first goal. McCrorie 6. Solid enough, perhaps slightly at fault for goal. Brown 6. Terrible pass after 4 mins nearly cost us but didn't put a foot wrong after that. Ferguson 9. Excellent. 2 Goals and charging about with the safety of Brown behind him. Ojo. 7. Far better in that position, good runs into the box. Hedges 7. Decent game, missed from close in but sharp to win the pen. JET 9. Great touch, strong. If he had any pace he'd be brilliant. Ramirez 8. Goal on debut. Got better as the game went on. SUBS. MacKenzie 7. Solid. McLennan 7. Good finish for 5th. Jenks 6. Nae time. MANAGER. Glass 8. Dodgy first 20mins but got everything after spot on. Bold starting Ojo but it worked. No holding on to a goal or 2 lead. COYFR!!!! Link to comment
