The Ross McCrorie Delusion

Recommended Posts

I struggle to think of a player that more nonsense has been spoken about as Ross McCrorie.

I heard Willie Miller describe him as a 'Rolls Royce' on Radio Scotland. Now Willie was our greatest ever player but thank god he isn't employed as our DoF anymore.

Someone on Radio Scotland (I didn't catch who) claimed that McCrorie would be the only Aberdeen player who'd get in the Hearts team.

Where does this nonsense stem from? Is it because he came through the Huns youth system?

A player who has now woefully failed under three managers. Been tried in numerous positions. Cant defend, can't attack, can't dictate play in midfield, isn't very good and needs binned.

Bizarre.

Thought when he first joined us and played in midfield alongside better players he looked decent. He’s not a defender and also isn’t a box to box midfielder, actually think he could do Ramadani’s job better

To be fair he’s been shunted all over the team trying to fill holes that should have been covered with new signings.

Always thought McCrorie suffers from never getting played in one position for any great length of time. I suspect @Proud Dandy is probably correct saying that he would be better playing Ramadani's position. It wouldn't have happened under Goodwin because Ramadani was his signing. It likely won't happen under whoever we get in for the time being either as he's needed to cover right back.

I'd still sell him if anyone offered £500k

He’s technically good, strong, aggressive and quick. I think he would offer more that Ramandani in the CDM role.
He’s been ok at RB in a flat 4, but awful on the right side of a back 3, truly awful.
There’s a reason he was applauded when he arrived and that was in the midfield role..

I wouldn’t be getting rid, as personally i think there’s a good player in there, but in the right position…ie not any form of centre half.
our lack of defensive recruitment, which is shambolic has contributed to him playing where he shouldn’t be and I have some sympathy..

many greater problems that Ross M to solve

People as per usual are blinded by the admittedly poor "rangers" crap

He is far from our biggest problem

Come away. He's one of the worst, consistently.

I think the fact he was once highly thought of in Govan is what saves him from media scrutiny.
