Andy Considine

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone agrees with me that it was a travesty for us to lose Andy. I know he is a bit slow these days but obviously still able to be a virtual ever present for the Perth guys. The way he was cast aside was really horrible given his length of service with the dons. Surely he could have moved to being a back up defender with the longer term plan to be in the coaching side. Goodwin was in his “making his mark” mode when the horrible act took place. I wonder if anyone else remembers his crucial goals over the years particularly against the old firm. As I say a bit slower these days but a helluva lot better than those we have now.

I really believe Dave Cormack should get in touch with him with a view to bringing him home.

We offered him what, we are led to believe, was a fantastic contract with a route into coaching. He turned it down looking for guaranteed first team football and it was his choice to leave. If you watched him up here a few weeks ago he has managed to get even slower so no way would he be a first pick choice despite our current defence.

The man was negotiating and being advised by his agent just like 99.9% of all pro footballers. Goodwin later admitted he had made yet another “mistake” Andy is dons through and through, not many of them left.

No, he's not.

Been an integral part of the best defences we've had this century.

See, you are doing that thing where you look back at him at his peak and think he's still there, he isn't and he's got one knee ffs.  I've seen enough of him this season to know he is not good enough for us.

He's better than what we have, which is worth pointing out.

Most goals conceded in the league, by a good margin now.

Far better than Stewart or Scales and offered a fraction of what we gave Stewart (no idea what Scales is in). No question in my mind we'd be better for Considine still being here.

Hindsight and all that. Would Considine have been better than Stewart and Scales? I don't think anyone can question that he would have been. But then again, I'd be pointing fingers at recruitment as opposed to looking to a 35 year old centre half.

He was offered a deal don't forget that.

Woahhhhhhhhh. How has this happened??

As a youngster he played for a team that St J helped out with kit etc. They all got taken up to McDiarmid and had a day of coaching, lunch etc. They were also my best mate's team so he took him up to matches when he was going. I've no problem with it at all. Most of his schoolmates were arse cheek supporters despite living nowhere near the weeg. At least Perth was within 20 miles of our home and technically were the most local (just) SPL side

Nah. mate is 5ft 5. Son is 6ft 1

If anything, it could have been the other way about. I've seen his wife bollock naked twice. Not by accident. Both times alcohol fuelled. Once skinny dipping at North Berwick beach at about 1am in November. Second time playing strip poker. Both times she had her kit off in jig time. I never pushed things but I think it was there if I wanted it...

The plot thickens.

I'm not transphobic so your restraint is admirable!
