Aberdeen 1 - 0 Livingston

Will be interesting to see how Robson and Agnew shape us up for this game, with a full defensive compliment of players available to them for the 1st time.

Will they stick with 3 at the back, or move to a more conventional 4 at the back? The latter works better for me

                       Gorter

McCrorie Pollock MacDonald Scales

              Ramadani Shinnie

          Duncan Clarkson Duk

                     Miovski

3 at the back seems to be Robson's preferred set up, if that is the case I'd go...

                        Gorter

         MacDonald Pollock Scales

McCrorie Clarkson Shinnie Coulson

                 Duk Markanday

                     Miovski

I reckon he'll bring Scales back in for more pace in defence, and McCrorie will start at RWB and Coulson at LWB as we'll hope to have more of the ball and have them pushing forward. Don't think we need Ramadani and Shinnie, so time to ditch Ramadani and see how we do without him. Would like to see if the lad Markanday is up to much, but to be honest could put Roberts or Myslovic in there instead as we've seen nothing of any of them.

I'd like to see Markanday get a bit more game time but not as a starter as yet. 25-30 minutes will do for now to see if he has anything about him. And maybe a full half against United, with a view to, if he does show up well, getting him a start against Hearts after the international break.

Roberts has probably shown just about enough to earn himself the start against Livi. Personally I'd stick with Ramadani but if McCrorie was preferred over him it wouldn't put me up nor down.

Aye, must be ann accumulation of “points” as it was his 2nd red card of the season.

He didn't get booked against Motherwell. The Transfer Market site doesn't have any Aberdeen player down as suspended for this weekend. Is there another list?

Edit: this is scales we're talking about, not McRorie btw.

This is just Robson's way of saying he doesn't fancy him but making him still feel wanted. "Aye you're still suspended son, we'll get you back next week".

Great man management.

28/01/2023 601513 - LIAM SCALES (ABERDEEN F.C.) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM LEAGUE MATCH FROM 11/02/2023

Taken from the SFA website ^^

I'm presuming that because under the loan rules he wasn't allowed to face Celtic that this match doesn't count for a suspension?

Are there “loan rules” though?

I know it’s the norm for players not to play against their parent club, but is it not an arrangement between the clubs as opposed to an SFA edict?

ABZ guys were discussing this. Because it’s his 2nd red card of the season, it’s a 3 match ban in total, so misses the St Mirren, Well and Livvie games. Celtic game not part of the equation.

I'm certain this was cleared up last year....loan players are not allowed to face their parent club in league competition. But they can face them in cup competitions EDIT...provided that they aren't already cup-tied by having played for their parent club in an earlier round

Right, I'm confused as fook..... McRorie received his 2nd red of the season against Smurren... SFA site states 2 game ban... now served.

Scales on the other hand, who was neither booked nor sent off in either Smurren or Murderwell games, is not due to serve a suspension.

So either Barry knows something we don't, or he's been on the sauce today.

Edit: Hud on... the sending off against Hibs... I forgot all about that game (purposely!!). So he had 2 game standard plus as a result of totting up? FFS!!
Also, RM has only received one red. That all makes sense but also means Coulson or Hayes at full back or they go with a 3-5-2 sort of set up.

But then why was he allowed to play against Motherwell?
