It is a must win imo

We need to win the home games against Hibs and St Mirren

I don’t fancy going to Tynecastle only 2 points ahead

If we win and Hearts falter we will be at least 7 points ahead and that will probably be enough with 3 games left

Exactly. Drop any points in this game & it’s more than likely we would be going to tynecastle next at serious risk of them going above us.
100% a must win game this

That isn't the definition of a must win game though.

There's a difference between games that are important to win and games that are 'must win'

We're still a couple of games away from potential 'must wins'

My point is I don’t think we can go into the game with any kind of ‘free hit’ mindset

We absolutely have to win this game, the knock on effect otherwise could be pretty dire

It's an important game and I'm sure everyone at the club knows it.

Hopefully the crowd get behind the team like they did against the Huns the other week.  Should be an almost capacity crowd being the Gothenburg weekend.

It isn't "must win" but it is definitely "mustn't lose"

We have to assume for now that Hearts will go to Paisley and win. So ideally we beat Hibs and keep the 5 points difference. If it turns out that St Mirren do us favour and take something off the jambo's then great.

But what we mustn't do is slip up and lose. You just know if we did that Hearts would win and we'd face going to Tynecastle the following week knowing that a loss there would put Hearts ahead of us (even if we drew with Hibs, they'd go ahead on goal difference but I'd expect us the following week to regain the lead with us having St M at home and Hearts away to sevco)

What I'd like to avoid is having to go to Celtic in the last round of fixtures needing a win. Because even with Timothy in title celebration mode and with the SC Final a week later, we still would get nothing out of it.

Yeah, but they'd need to win their remaining three games, that's never gonna happen

2 of which being against the cheeks and the other being against Hearts who they beat once every 3 years.

I don’t think we need to worry about Hibs other then when we play them.

Wouldn’t put it past the arse cheeks to try & fk us over lol. Both gift St Mirren 3 nil wins

I'd imagine that sevco would, on balance (just), prefer us to get third rather than Hibs.

If things are close with us and Hearts though, then they might give their mini hun mates a helping hand

EDIT...I don't expect St Mirren to be anywhere close to being able to make 4th nevermind 3rd. And I doubt either arse cheek would lose intentionally to them under any circumstance

Might? No question they would gift Hearts 3 points over us. Just glad Hearts had Celtic when they did, otherwise they would have taken points of them.

It’s not a must win - today was a must result game. Every game but 1 is a must result game The result is we must match Hearts as a minimum - simple as that.  Today was perfect in that regard.

the game that isn’t a must result - any one of the next 4

hearts have to BETTER  us in TWO of the next 4

Today wasn't exactly against the odds that we both lost.

No two ways about it. Need Hibs to win at Pittodrie, so I'm glad they still have Europe to play for and their own hopes of third.

And we need to beat a St Mirren team that probably knows it's final place.

That would set up Aberdeen at Tynie where you travel badly. A win for us in that game and we'd be a point ahead, better goal difference, two games left. We'd have one against The Rangers who'd be quite happy I think to see us finish above you. But then one against Hibs, the other way round.

Ifs and buts and still rather be where you are. But not quite over, yet.

Today was Collum. He had to get involved. Even when not the ref. For them. On their big day. He couldn't help himself. Never a clear cut scoring opportunity beyond doubt he was 1 on 1 and so no need to contradict the ref with VAR. He forced a red with Hearts on top. Partly to make the headlines. Partly as the GFA didn't want Celtic winning the league at Ibrox.

Nothing will convince me that tackle in any other game would have seen VAR step in. When Bonner and Walker agree, you know it was never a red.

Scotland should have foreign refs. But that's another thread.

Still fighting for third, but a long shot.

Under-estimate Hibs at our peril. If we lose they move within 3 points. If Hearts beat St Mirren they move within 2 points.

Hibs then have the uglies in holiday mood, both at home followed by a last game derby. I can just see them taking 10 points.

Hearts will have their cousins to play and I can see them getting a win as Sevco chuck it to mess with us just because they love us so much.

We'll be in Europe but not a stick on for Europa

Celtic still going for a points record but huns have nothing to play for.  Expect to see more fringe players and youngsters from them over the next four games so there's definitely potential for them to drop points to Hearts, Hibs or even St. Mirren.

Six points should still be enough to see us third and best chance of those points are Hibs and St.Mirren at home.

You really need to just go back to your own forum with this deluded nonsense, for your own good if nothing else. Your scenario where Hearts are one point ahead with 2 games left is quality comedy. It only requires us to lose to Hibs at home where we have a really good record on a special day for the club, you guys to win at St Mirren which is far from certain and a team in your poor form to beat us. Bookies odds on all that happening? 25/1 maybe? BUT you tell the story like you believe its going to happen.

No way are the odds of that so long. It’s not really THAT unrealistic tbh. This team is very capable of Heartsing it
