Has there been any update regarding the ridiculous position we got ourselves in with the Red Shed capacity?

the club have said on numerous occasions they are working on it with the council but there’s never been any update as far as I’m aware.

Fuck the Cooncil. The Polis, i could understand them poking their bugle in, but the Cooncil 😂😂

I might be wrong but is it not limited because its unallocated seating? So they could just allocate seats but people just pile in and sit where ever they want Scotland away game style

There are many solutions to this issue and it’s worrying that the club has been unable to find one as of yet.

Can’t see what difference standing or sitting down makes to anything. It’s the same amount of people, in the same amount of space.

Think it’s a mixture of the police wanting to identify who you are if you’re up to mischief and ridiculous health and safety rules.

Given we are probably (at a min) 4 years from having a new stadium, would it not be better to replace the current concrete base with new ones and install safe standing? I'd see quite a few migrating from South Stand into such an area, boosting an already great atmosphere. Yes, it would cost, and yes, with us looking to move, it could be seen as a white elephant, but surely we should be looking to sell out that stand every home game?

4 years min? Double it and probably still an underestimate.

When you hear plans to remove the SS fence, at a decent cost no doubt, it tells you we’re going nowhere anytime soon so I agree, next summer, rip up the concrete steps and install rail seats in the Merkie. Pay itself back in no time.

In terms of season tickets in there, how many can they sell? What’s the capacity of the RedShed? My lad’s season ticket is in the Merkie but not the RedShed, he just pushes his way into the RedShed, saves himself £35😂

What have you heard about the fence/away end?

Not going to happen, club will not make any major investments in redeveloping Pittodrie.

Given many areas of the stadium are in a state of disrepair, such as South Stand foundations underseat area, Merkland seats... I can't really see a business case for letting these things get much worse, unless we have a green light for a new development, which seems a long way off at present.

Sure, you'd maybe not get much life out of installing rail seating, but there could be a case made for taking anything we do install, with us IF we move.

Right now RedShed creates 99% of the atmosphere at games and clearly is driving the team on to perform. Getting that end absolutely rammed and pumping out the decibels, is paramount to how we win games at home and generating a nucleus of 'ultras' that create the same at away games. Spending 500k on new concrete and rails isn't a loss leader in my opinion.

I agree but seems unlikely

Club confirm today that there will be an increase in capacity of 200, so around 2100 of the 3400 seats can now be sold.

Not quite the 90% Burrows promised.

While it’s not great it’s still a start. Would help if all the 12 year olds in the shed could either start to contribute our go to upper RDS.

Imagine that there’s very little the club can do at the moment with the inept council.
