Doesn’t appear keen on shooting from distance either which he was very good at earlier in his career. 
 

Still a great squad player but no way we can rely on him starting twice a week.

He was looking done at some stages last season, tho' on occasion he was okay.

But he looked really shit yesterday. Finished levels of shit.

Fingers crossed as you say for this Kiwi boy.

Hayes, would be happy enough for him to be peripheral, playing the odd game here and there after Euro games, and adding energy & work rate & as a sub later on in matches.

No way a default starting place tho'. Canna happen.

Hayes work-rate & commitment are great, but his distribution is woeful. 
Also, his ability to get past a player & get a cross in has seemingly gone.
