0-0.

Cavani with a couple of close headers and a slider in at the back post being the highlights.   Wee boy Barco looks like a Stenhousemuir sub, but he can play.

Good result for Palmeiras.  Will scoosh it next week in Sampa.

Are you over in Brazil, Spoon? What's it like over there these days? I met in a woman from Salvador in June, must have been in late 60s and she was cool. A lot of Brazilians coming over to Aberdeen these days! Met a woman from Belize the other day. Life is hard in these places.

Copa American in USA next summer will be interesting. Ecuador and Colombia will be gunning for it! Ancelotti will be managing Brazil by then.

I think that the Copa Libertadores Final is on BBC, it was last year, Palmeiras are some team.

Nice one.   Salvador to Aberdeen is some trek....!!   A black woman yea...  What was she saying to it?

Did you see the game last night?  Boca was the better team.

Palmeiras looking to get in to their 3rd final in 4 years and become Brazils most successful club in the competition.   Still a few wins behind the Argies though.  They've also never won the Mundial yet.  That's their Holy Grail.   Means more to them here than it does to those English dogs.

She looked mostly of Portuguese descent, but it's hard to tell what exactly a Brazilian person's ancestry is. She was a bit vague why she left, she won't enjoy the winters here, got a feeling we're gonna get a bad one, as wild animals are preparing for winter early in the northern hemisphere, apparently.

I was planning on staying up to watch the game last night, but was too tired. I'll try and watch the 2nd legs. Defo watch the Final.

Copa Lib is great, it's just a shame that it's on late at night in Europe. Quito winning it in 2008 was amazing!

Yeah, it's a crazy cup, crazier than Champions League.

2025 Club World Cup will be insane. All those fans in... how many venues? In THIS social climate of USA? Then the World Cup the following year, 104 matches, 48 nations, maybe 15 million people descending on the big cities of North America? Olympics is in Los Angeles in 2028, too. Crazy.

That's your Maracanã there in the video.   Where Fluminense play their home games.  That final back then was a 2 legger.   Looked a cracker and they lost it the useless cunts....  They've never won Libertadores.

Nowadays it's 1 game for the final and it's in the Maracanã this year !!   Could be an all Brazilian final for the 4th year in a row...   Fluminense v Palmeiras would be tremendous.

The final will be at a sensible hour on the weekend, no problem GOB.  :spunk:

See the speed of the LDU midfielder counter attack there in that video at 12.10. ....   He went from the edge of his box to their box in about 3 seconds..  Fucking rapid !!   Rice and beans innit....

Rice and beans = cocaine!

I quite like the 2-legged Final concept. Fuck these Champions League Finals in Istanbul. Beautiful city and stadium, but... why? Making the fans fly to Crazy Land. Play them at home and away stadiums. Some Copa Lib Finals went to a third match, didn't they?

1977 Final was over three matches: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977_Copa_Libertadores_finals

Nelinho, he of that legendary goal against Italy in the 1978 World Cup Third Place match, scored a great free-kick in the 2nd leg and the 3rd match went to penalties.

Why the username change?

I didn't like the previous name and am embarrassed by some of the very drunken posts I had made.

Everyone likes Spoons.   It makes the eating of soup and yoghurts much easier.

You can still use the other name.  Or Spud.  Aids boy.   Whatever yanks your crank, man.

Scenes !!

JFK back from the dead...

Fluminense in the final...

🙌

Yeah, the fans went crazy! Flume are so fast going forward, they get from the halfway line to the box in around4 seconds and a very clinical in their finishing.

Man City v Flume or Palmeiras on Friday December 22 (18:00 UK time) would be great.

Final is on Saturday 4th November at 10pm UK time on BBC.

Motherfuckers !!

Palmeiras v Santos tomorrow.

That fucking fuckheaded cunt Morelos plays for Santos now.   He's not started a game yet and is barely getting minutes off the bench.

I hope he plays tomorrow and is humiliated, the fucking fat Hun fuck.

Yeah, I was expecting Palmeiras to win this fairly comfortably. Having said that, there is a part of me that wants an Argentinian team at the 2025 Club World Cup. It would be a bit odd if it was only Brazilian teams there. Palmeiras and Flamengo have already qualified as 2021 and 2022 Copa Lib winners. Two spots of the six are for, "best eligible team in CONMEBOL 4-year ranking."

I wasn't that excited by the 2025 Club World Cup, but I am now. It will create new rivalries. But the quality in Mexico and MLS will need to go up. The North African and Middle Eastern clubs will be well up for it!
