GeorgeStreetReds
Good game, full house (give or take), 3,000 away fans, nice night, two good goals - an all round a tremendous evening. Link to comment
Matt Armstrong's Dog
Nilsen, Molloy, McGrath, and Miovski (especially in the first half) were excellent last night Mitov is a far more commanding and braver goalkeeper than Roos. Nice start to the season, albeit we badly need two decent wingers that actually have an end product, moving forward. Morris has not got a football brain and Gueye, when he came on to play down the right, apart from one deft touch before launching the ball into the away end, was brutal. 1 Link to comment

Big Hat Logan
Nilsen looked more like the player I thought we were getting, very neat and tidy last night looking to make quick passes and keep play going. Also seemed to be very vocal. Still need another midfielder now though. Nilsen and Shinnie were struggling at the end. Guèye looked like the player we had first time again, when he went out wide he was diabolical. Jogging about the place with no urgency. We looked decent before Sokler went off, he had a good game apart from the one on one the keeper saved, needs to work on that. 1 Link to comment

He certainly did. There was one occasion in the first half, he came through a ruck of players to claim the ball, arguably a ball a 'keeper would normally be second favourite to retrieve. That's when I thought, we've got a proper goalkeeper here (nae feart, brave, perfect timing of his jump to claim the ball, the will to throw his body on the line, and a safe pair hands). His one-handed save in the second half confirmed my beliefs.👍 1 Link to comment

Sokler is an intelligent and instinctive player who is clearly committed to playing for us, hence his reaction of disappointment when substituted last night He just needs a couple of tweaks to his game to become a more accomplished striker; his timing of his last man runs (albeit we're only speaking millimetres like the one last night when he scored (very deft finish), only for it to be chopped off), and when he is one on one against an opposition 'keeper, as you quite right say. Belabedlam
Credit to St. Johnstone, they looked a lot less meek and useless than I expected. I thought if we struggled it would be our own doing but they really went for it. Despite that there was a spell in the first half we could have been 3-0 up. Morris is and will continue to be a frustrating player, although he looked ok in spells. He needs to release the pass quicker but he dithers on the ball too long. Molloy and Ruby looked solid. MacKenzie and Shinnie looked a wee bit off their game to me but it happens. Sokler really should be more clinical and time his runs better - if he does, he will be able to fill Miovski's shoes as more of an Adam Rooney style poacher. Miovski's off the ball work and link up play amazing as always. Developed a fondness for back heels lately it seems. Mitov a huge upgrade on Roos. Ambrose still not impressing me too much yet, first touch of an elephant on ice and Gueye actually did alright - potentially goal saving header from a free kick, and a good pass through to Morris both within 2 mins of coming on. GeorgeStreetReds
Watching Mitov last night made me hate Roos even more, he was an utter disgrace of a keeper. 1 1 Link to comment

Far too many fans are wanting him to do well rather than believing he actually will. That mentality is weak as fk & the more that have it, the more the club will ‘settle’ & fob us off with shite like him i dont think anyone at the club is basing transfers on "whats the minimum can we get away with". I would say that that is very much a serious consideration as far as budgeting goes 🤔 just at same time the max is considered before setting for closer to the prior Link to comment
