Miovski must start v St Johnstone and all other league games. We cannot afford not to play him for the month of August , simply because someone “might” buy him. Aberdeen pay his wages and we have a decent set of fixtures in August where full points is achievable.

Miovski is our player until the money is in Dave's pockets. Therefore we should play him. It's not that difficult.

 

I get that we don't want him to get injured. But I also don't want anyone else in the squad to get injured, a circumstance which could have a much bigger impact on our season.

 

That being said, I'm pretty certain he'll be gone by Monday.

If we can’t manage 3 points off St Johnston ,  the fans will start to bite at their fingernails, then with anther few weeks of no new signings they will have no nails left.

We're in trouble if we can't, they're probably favourites for automatic relegation this season.

We kicked off our campaign last season against the eventual relegated team and I hope it will be the same this time!

Let's hope it's a better game than the one against livi as that was murder!

I think we'll win but it won't be pretty. 

Can see this going a bit like the start of the Stephen Glass season. Couple of very lucky wins after poor performances to start off the campaign, followed by the quality of the squad being found out very quickly.

Well exactly. When he does go we might not have a lot of time to get in any players so there is a possibility this is the squad we go into the season with minus Miovski.

If these players can’t hold their own and win games without him then we are in serious trouble.

Feared this would happen. 

Maybe put McGrath in the middle instead of Clarkson and Guèye on the left? Not that he’s had much game time but we are hardly blessed with options. The “safe” move would be Duncan instead of Guèye though

I’d go with the first option.  

Duncan appears to be ahead of Besuijen in the pecking order.

Could play Besuijen on the left. Doubt it though.

Hopefully Clarkson is ok though. 

The thought of starting the league with Duncan & Morris as the wide players ….

Only highlights how light the squad is with just Polvara & maybe Clarkson unavailable.

Tbf before last weeks second half it was looking really grim. We still have the vast majority of the shite that had us nearly relegated. 
 

However I am going to the Saints game then St Mirren at Pittodrie as the manager needs the fans to come out and back the team. If we start to look like there is some plan in place then I’ll be tempted to go to more games. Hopefully others feel the same

I'm at the stage that I just want to see some enjoyable games where we show that we are there to win rather than not to lose. 

Folk stressing from the outset about whether we will finish 3rd or not just makes it all an endurance rather than enjoyable.

Yep. I get it’s a project as we keep hearing and we aren’t going to rectify every issue in one window but there needs to be tangible progress made this summer. So far it seems to be a bit lacking.

Agree, we are unrealistic to think we’ll have the squad as we want it to be by 31/8, it’ll take more than one transfer window, but we should expect it to be significantly better by then, & ideally by the time the league starts.

Looks like we’ll start the league as is.
