St Johnstone 1 - 2 Aberdeen

Recommended Posts

As it stands our recognised best 11 is weaker than the one we fielded at the tail end of last season (assuming Miovski and Duk remain unable to be used)

The potential upside is that the new coaching team can squeeze a bit more out of the group than the previous ones could.

Think it’s safe to assume Duk won’t be playing seen as he hasn’t even returned yet for pre-season.

Again I disagree.

We have a better goalkeeper. We have a mire balanced central defensive partnership and we have a stronger midfield.

We haven't lost Miovski yet.

I would suggest we are stronger in more areas than we are weaker. We should still have enough to take care of a boring negative defensive display by Levein.

I'm assuming Miovski is away though and stated that in my post.

I'd also say that the loss of Miovski, Duk and Hoilett more than offsets any gains in having a new goalie.

Nilsen and Molloy might be a slight improvement on last year but I'd say it's too early to say for sure.

We're not just building a squad to go to Perth and beat St Johnstone on Monday btw.

We still have Miovski and need to consider Polvara too.

Lets save majority of the pant pissing when Miovski and Duk are gone and weve only taken some EPL youngster on loan

A Miovski that we don’t play & a Polvara that’s out for 4 months.

We needed a midfielder in before Polvara got injured.

And we all know we’re short of wingers.
And that’s hardly news, been the case for ages.

Give the manager a chance to be successful & stop piss arsing around

I see the shout on Miovski but we may instantly replace him when he goes so lets give the club that chance before we say we are weaker.

Replace him as star player not necessarily a #9

I very much doubt we’ll replace Miovski with better, but it should allow us to strengthen in a couple of other areas.

Almost certainly wont replace him with better but we may go out and sign someone for chunky cash and pay them a higher wage.

A new 9, 10 or 11 would be welcome if they were a decent calibre

The signs are that we will be a better organised, more cohesive unit so that will help matters.

Agreed, I would welcome our signing of decent players

We'd surely put in a bid for Cameron almost immediately. Only thing is, Dundee knowing we were flush with cash would probably demanded an inflated fee.

Armstrong might also be a possibility.

As for replacing Miovski, I'm thinking we'll look to Scandinavia

We’ve already replaced him surely? Ambrose and Sokler are the two strikers we’ve signed the last two summers in preparation for him leaving. It’s actually good business in the market.

Both would be good additions.

I think Armstrong will be looking to go to England though.
He’s 26, & it’s probably his best or last chance to.
I reckon he’ll end up in the Championship after Killie are knocked out of Europe.

I think Sokler was signed as Miovski replacement yes but things can change and we likely didnt know we were on for selling Bojan for £6m+

We need a special player again and can accommodate them in any forward position. If its easiest for us to lay out hands on a winger or an attacking mid then we go with Sokler.

A new 7, 8, 9 & 11 😁

Someone needs to see if Gunner has gone AWOL with Duk.

Spotted in ARI, steam burn from the kettle usage, Checked his hands for writing callouses, from signing contracts !, smoother than silk unfortunately, we be doomed.

1 of Ambrose, Sokler, Bavidge, Guèye after a run of games might end up being a special player, you never know after a confidence boosting run, look at cosgoals lol, and he was technically shite.

Agreed plus we have Gueye and Sokler up to speed now which gives the squad a boost, add to that Morris is back and looks to have improved ( yes i know he's not what we need long term) and that can only help as before we had a squad of players who weren't match fit and shot of confidence.  I still believe we'll add 2/3 more if we can move on a couple.

23/24 - 24/25

Roos < Mitov

Devlin - Devlin

Rubezic < Rubezic (he'll improve)

Jensen < Molloy

Mackenzie < Mackenzie (he'll improve)

Shinnie - Shinnie

Barron - Nilsen (Barron is no major loss)

Clarkson < Clarkson (he'll improve)

McGrath - McGrath

Hayes/Hoilett > Morris (but we'll surely sign someone else)

Miovski > Sokler

Disagree.  Get beat and Cormack might shift his position re Miovski and chuck us a bone by signing yet another Mayden Shorris.

A draw (and that’s far from impossible if we’re Miovski and Clarkson-less) and it’s all aboard the more-of-the-same bus with no action taken.

(and still selling Miovski, eventually)
