Awesometoast
2 minutes ago, Leightons Ricketts said: He looks very much like a classic number six (four for us due to God.) He plays with the game in front of him, will take the ball from defenders or keeper and gets his head up. One area he looks to be superb at is when the team has won possession, he is immediately looking for an attacker making a run and he finds them with a pass. Players like Shady Mo, Bojan, Sokler or Gueye would benefit from him getting behind a defence. You are looking at one of Shinnie or Nilsen dropping out to make room in the team. Would make sense to have Shinnie & Nilsen being interchangeable. Save them both being absolutely knackered by the 70th minute and will cover the inevitable bookings/bans they will undoubtedly get. 1 Link to comment
slippers
Would it not be taking Clarkson’s place and we go with Sokler up top himself. Link to comment
Tord31
Another defensive mid fairly strengthens the squad, and gives us more options when we want to play 3 in there. Structure of the deal is much better than a loan deal so well done to the club on that 1 Link to comment
Yorston Vasey
Had him on a Football Manager career once, he was ace. Thumbs up from me. Link to comment

You could see Clarkson dropping out vs Old Firm and using Palversa as the deepest of three midfielders with Shinnie and Nilsen pressing more. 1 Link to comment
Dandys1983
That guy on X, Richard Wilson seems to be a eastern European expert, have just posted about him. Sound like we have a player here! https://x.com/HYFPRW/status/1821492434947191132?t=QCJNqGtiV_BK6Ig3fCnQ6A&s=19 2 Link to comment

C'monEweReds
What's the reasoning behind the 1 year with 2 further option? Surely if we have paid a fee for him we want him for 3 years regardless? Also if he turns out to be absolutely dynamite what happens next summer when somebody wants to sign him for a big fee do we still get that? Genuine questions, not too sure how these deals with 'an option' work, help me out somebody. Link to comment

If he’s good we trigger the extension, if he isn’t and can’t stay fit, ciao. Link to comment

Shinniesta
Midfield options now looking very strong especially once the two injured lads come back. Shinnie, Nilsen, Palaversa, McGrath, Polvara & Clarkson. Connor who? If we can get a couple of good wingers in then we are looking ok. Losing Miovski when he goes is the biggest issue we have hopefully Sokler & Ambrose can step up. Link to comment

Chester Don
1 hour ago, Dandys1983 said: My lad just said the same the now. Well, there have been murmurs about Dave looking for a new buyer, and perhaps his recent health scare has allowed him to take stock. I hope we keep Dave as I genuinely feel he has the best interest of Aberdeen at heart, and we can see the developments across the whole club to give the foundations for future growth but perhaps a future link / sale to the city group could be a possibility. Like it or not many teams are in / will be in such groups and if you’re not in then there is a risk of being left behind. 1 1 Link to comment
