Interesting.  Of the youngsters out on loan he definitely seems to be the one who is performing best.  Gets regular goals and assists at Cove.

The conundrum for JT will be (if he’s still our manager in the summer) lads like Bavidge, Stewart, Marshall, Lobban and Emslie all need either added to the squad, or moved on. Given Cormack’s penchant for glutting our squad with  European nobodies, will these Scottish lads ever get an opportunity here, which then feeds into the argument of “why are we even bothering with a youth academy”?

Looks to me that there is a massive disconnect within the strategy at our club if we are spending £2m per year on our youth academy and yet not giving them a pathway into the 1st team

I think whether or not and how Shinnie is managed out of the team though is a different story.  Another former player nudged out and added to the coaching staff/ambassadors role?  Coach/player gig at ICT?

The plan with Rubezic was surely always 2 and gone even pre Jimmy. Club must have had higher hopes than this after rejecting that 7 figure bid in the summer though.

Most of them (if not all?) have contracts to 2026 so certainly make or break time approaching next season for them

There's a nice Player Ambassador role for him opened up at AFCCT  with Macdonald going. Would help him keep busy but still be with squad as he winds down like it did for Macdonald and Hayes

If Shinnie is going to be benched for more than 2-3 games in a row it will be a tricky one to manage for the club. Being in europe (we can dream) would help hide the situation for another 6 months
