zeroisgod76
2-1 to the dons. 2 up by halftime (Nisbet and Dabbagh), St Johnstone score early in 2nd half and backs to the wall for 40 minutes but hold on for the win that puts us back into 3rd as Hibs drop points at Kille. 1 Link to comment

As long as the plastic pitchers don't come up in their place. I can see the logic for smaller teams like St Johnstone, who aren't going to have the revenue from a top 6 finish, to maximise the income from these games. If they're not going to fill the stands themselves, might as well get the money. And the likelihood is they'll lose even if Celtic have no fans in the stadium, so fair enough making some cash to ease the pain. 1 Link to comment
Tord31
In addition to Nisbet, both Keskinen (u21) and Mitov have been called up for the March internationals. 1 Link to comment

A sad state of affairs but I don’t blame St Johnstone or clubs like them for it. Likely those 3 stands have plenty of people from Perth and the surrounding areas in them supporting Celtic. That is the major problem in Scottish football. 1 Link to comment

Yeah - I guess it's always been that way, folk from across the country choose to support Celtic and Sevco rather than their hometown or local team. In the past 20 years there's also been an increasing trend of youngsters "supporting" clubs from England or abroad so that a lot of them don't even follow Scottish football at all. Link to comment

Detest seeing young lads wearing city tops etc at football training. My son's almost at that age and I have no intention of him wearing anything other than Aberdeen tops if he wants to wear a football kit. See how that unfolds... 1 Link to comment

Plastic pitches were voted out from next season 👍 But a few of the potential promotion chasers are protesting it. Think there was something like 6 or 8 clubs trying to appeal it. Surprisingly even Killie voted against plastic as they are switching next season Link to comment

I agree smaller clubs cant be blamed for cashing in like this. I think probably more ppl supported home town clubs before the advent of televised football, but ultimately we are now in an open marketplace of clubs seeking support. Link to comment

Sadly St Johnstone cannot afford to have thousands of empty seats for home games as happens at the moment. They are such a badly supported team the club cannot rely on their home fans to generate a decent match day income. Link to comment
CCB III
Who gives a fuck about what St J do? They have a stadium that’s too big for them, they don’t make a great deal on player sales, and they need money like every other club. They don’t have the support to have a principled stance imo. 1 Link to comment
FAbian
Why are St Johnstone not opening up the other end of there ground for Aberdeen fans then if they are doing it for Celtic. Its only Wednesday and the allocation is sold out... Link to comment

Daisy1903
Imagine being a season ticket holder, turning up every week to watch your team lose. Spending good money on food, drink and tops and then being told your seat is being given away so some Tim can have a party at your stadium. Hope they get relegated and their stadium fucking trashed. Tin pot as fuck. 1 Link to comment

Maybe they’ve seen our recent gates for the home cup ties and concluded that we’re not currently all that well supported, certainly compared to earlier this season. And don’t want to risk incurring the additional costs of opening another stand without being reasonably confident that there’ll be much demand for it. Link to comment
