Aberdeen v Hearts (Scottish Cup Semi)

Recommended Posts

Semi tickets on sale from tonight for Top Reds: https://tickets.afc.co.uk/default.aspx

Was having a look at our previous recent semi final crowds on AFC Heritage https://www.afcheritage.org/matches/fixtures-and-results

Looks like the best figure they have for a semi final crowd is v Rangers 2-1 loss in 22/23 which is 13,850 - hopefully we can beat that for this game.

(They don't have Aberdeen specific figures for some of the games I remember us having big supports, Dundee United 14/15 at Hampden, St Johnstone at Ibrox 13/14, Hibs at Hampden 12/13 or QOTS 07/08.)

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I don't think we'll take much more than 10,000 to this.  I've been surprised at the amount of folk I know who normally go to semi finals who are giving this a miss - "I'll just watch it on tv" etc.

In our group we had more folk who went to the Celtic Scottish cup semi last season than are going this time. Get the impression folk can't be arsed with the hassle.  Of course that might not be the feeling across our support as a whole.

I think the humping in the other semi earlier in the season has dented the enthusiasm - possibly also our poor record at Hampden and just the general way this season has panned out.

Kick off time and general cost of travelling to Glasgow is not helping.

Don’t under estimate the amount of folk on holiday.

It’s Easter weekend.

I know 3 folk who are away that weekend, 2 of which would definitely have gone, one maybe.

I also think there’s quite a bit of apathy from some Dons fans to that dump as well.
Hampden is horrendous to get to/from.
It’s a shite football ground behind the goal.

12.30 will put some off, although whilst it’s a pain in the hole of a kick off time, it’s not really an excuse on a Saturday.

12,000 I’ll say.

I think part of the apathy might be down to the fact that when we win we will no doubt be facing Celtic in the final.

This top red really can’t be fucked with it.

40 pounds for a ticket

Many thousands of Dons fans will tell the SFA to feck off and won't go

Yet another SFA disaster

Why not just pay £30 then? We’ve got about 8 thousand £30 tickets available.

Pretty much same price as it is to get into Pittodrie

I read the other day that Hertz fans are complaining about the cost / ko time, too

.....and they're only 45 mins along the road 🤷‍♂️

They’re being charged £40 for matchday travel by the club (that they own).
