florin_raducioiu
BBC are reporting Platini is wanting the FA cup winners to get into champions league. Thoughts? I think it's a bit of a farce and should be the choice of the countrys FA Link to comment
TheChimp
It also says in the article that the English FA are well up for the idea as it would add more prestige to the FA Cup. Frankly, I don't care as the 'big 4' down south have won all but 2 of the last 19 FA Cup Finals. Link to comment

The competition is a farce when the scottish champions have toqualify for the champions league but chelsea and other non champions dont. Link to comment

Spot on Tommy. I no longer watch the CL, haven't since the Liverpool v Milan final 2005. Link to comment
At The Border Guy
Pish competition. Could handle it being the usual suspects from the quarter finals onwards, but now it's the same every year right from the group stages. I honestly do not care who wins this anymore. Link to comment
Guest Stoney
Dont see how this is going to help cause more often then not its one of the top 4 teams who win the fa cup anyways, out of interest who were the last non top 4 team to win it? Link to comment

The Hobbit
Everton? Only 3 teams outwith the top 4 have won it since 1988. Wimbledon 88, Spurs 91(think) and Everton 95. They have the cheek to call the Scottish game predictable. Link to comment
Madbad
Why not a Europe-wide cup for the winners of all domestic cup competitions to compete in???? Radical I know, but could be a winner???????????????/ Link to comment

Dandyjam
I'd rather have a team who has actually WON something (FA Cup winners) being rewarded with a Champions League place rather than a team that has finished 4th place in the League getting the CL place. May actually encourage some of the teams who have started fielding weakened sides in the FA Cup to start taking it a bit more seriously. Link to comment

johnstrac
The one I don't get is why the Scottish Cup runners up get into the UEFA if they lose to a Champions League qualified side.I realise that this had to be done in the days of the ECWC but no longer surely ? Link to comment
