Looking on Soccerbase cant find him playing a first team match at all in his career - no appearences for Leyton Orient before moving here. Strange!!

From the interview he gave when he signed he said something about being a late starter in to organised football.

Maybe a talented, athletic guy but is learning to play as part of a team.

Gave a weird interview when he signed saying that one day he just decided he was going to give professional football a go. Wish we could all just decide that !

His interview was extremely clear and he came across as a very intelligent guy. Stayed on at school, did his A Levels and didn't go down the route of a youth contract with a club. Still played football but just Sat league stuff. Then decided he wanted to give football a shot and had trials at a number of clubs. Was really impressed with Brown and Knox and thinks they are the guys to give him a chance of making it as a pro. It's not even that unique, David Weir didn't turn pro till 22 and it's nae done him much harm.

Did Weir not play for a college in US before that though.

i think in the modern game and given finances we'll see this type of rough diamond at many clubs, may take us a while to polish him, plus he's free

many of us complain our club does not look for gems in lower leagues, then we do and they get stick for it, CB knows exactly what he's doing and with Ifil off the wage bill it makes sense, if he's not good enough we release him at no cost, McGennis is not that different from this lad, he's very rough round the edges and needs proper coaching & training

will be interesting to see if any of these loan signings stay on come the summer, would not mind McNamee & Smith as our permanent full backs (depending on injury proneness) and Milson looks like he could do a good job for us, get rid of Young/Mackie/Diamond/Howard, get Milsom in, with Jack coming through and Fyvie/Folly back next year our midfield would look not bad, still think we need left & right wide midfielders and central play maker, just hope the injuries don't ruin the players...especially Fyvie
