HairyPie
Smeltic are a club who have ignored, even blessed paedos within their walls. The fans of the club as well as all the staff are a blight on Scottish society and deserve nothing from life but an early death. Link to comment
mcdougall(4)
He's not going to Celtic. If he does I'll delete my account (@EB4B) Also, he's much better than Devlin, people need to stop with that shite. So you won't be deleting your account You'll just be a dick every time someone mentions McKenna, with made up nonsense. Link to comment
RedForever
I think anybody saying that Celtic can't afford him is kidding themselves. They are very healthy financially and could easily pay the 7-10M that we're looking for. McKenna doesn't really fit their general modus operandi of sourcing players around the 3-4M range and selling them at a huge profit, but they've shown they are willing to go above that for the right player. That being said, I can't see them breaking the bank for an SPFL player. They'd have done it for John McGinn if they were prepared to. Unfortunately I think there are a couple of different things in play right now that may make Celtic break from tradition and pay a big transfer fee for a Scottish player 1. Centre back has been a real problem area for them for the last couple of seasons but they have managed because they had Boyata so it was him +1, he will be gone in the summer if not before2. They may have to pay a big fee but they will try and reduce the money to about £5M + Allen and Hendry or something along those lines3. The fee may be big but McKenna's wage demands will not be any issue at all (maybe not the same if taking someone in from outside Scotland)4. They probably do see themselves in a title fight now with the other horrible bastards and will be desperate not to let them win the league I am hoping I am wrong, it is inevitable McKenna will leave in the near future if he keeps improving just hope its not to them. Tord31
Ok let's get this straight whether he eventually signs for Celtic or not. The rumour this week is utter utter bollocks. Link to comment
Proud Dandy
As others have said I can’t see Celtic paying what we value McKenna to be worth. English teams on the other hand don’t need to rely on resell value if a player is going to do the business for them, if anything c£8m is good value if it gives them a quality centre back for a few years on a modest (relatively) wage. Any player plus cash offer from Celtic also feels unrealistic. I can’t see many players other than Hayes agreeing to a substantial pay cut to come to us, and I hate the idea of taking squad players off them while they strengthen one of their few weak areas. The_Next_Legend
If there is any truth in the rumours and we don't get around 6/7/8 million in cash i'll honestly not return to pittodrie while Milne is there. If we even the slightest bit bend over to Celtic and accept some shite deal I'm done. Jack Hendry they paid 1mill for? He's not worth that. Hayes they paid about a million for too? He's since broke his leg, another year older, not worth that. Arguably those two players are worth maybe a million between them (if you're being nice).. and there's talk of 4million plus those two... I'm not buying it, i'd love to think we are not going to bent over from Celtic but with Milne in charge anything could happen. 2 1 Link to comment
RedForever
McKenna grew up a Celtic fan did he not ? Hanz, he may have but to be fair its irrelevant. the only things of relevance is If Celtic make an offer in whatever shape that is, does it match Aberdeen's valuation of him and are Aberdeen willing to sell their biggest current asset to a competitor in the same league and as others have suggested strengthen the area that they have struggled with 1 1 Link to comment
NEM
Celtic most definitely can afford him, they have made a big profit for about 4 years in a row. They can afford him but they won't pay another Scottish club the sort of cash it'd take to get him 3 Link to comment

McPhee123
Folk going mental on social media based on a post on a fake AFC Twitter. McKenna £5m, Hayes back to us and Hendry on loan. Surely Milne wouldn't allow that considering he knows the cash we can get for him down south. 1 Link to comment

Tord31
After missing out on McKenna they've turned their attention to Micah Richards from Man City. Disappointing as heard we'd be getting Anderson back from Derby if Scotty had went. 1 Link to comment

PondHopper
I don't like the concept of selling him to Celtic and then going out and acting like you are going to compete with them. I feel like the wolves make a ton more sense if they liked what they saw. Above a poster mentioned celtic liked to buy for a few million and sell for a profit. I sure wish aberdeen would take on that flipping business model with young prospects from Latin America and Africa. But back on topic pls sell the kid down south. Hell why bend over for the evil empire when there is a whole globe to do business with. Sell him right and you can buy a striker, left back, and have money left over. Take 2m and buy angulo.. put him next to cosgrove and sell for a profit down the road. Or give celtic what they want... smh 1 1 Link to comment
